Anyone knows whats going on with this guy?

He has only had 5 fights in a over a year, fair enough if he was 20 but the guy is 29. He should be having 10 fights a year. Its not like hes working hard in these fights, he had 400 amateur bouts and Im guessing a lot of them were tougher than all his fights so far.

And yes, based on H2H talent alone I think he is no.3 p4p behind only Pac & mayweather. Bob Arum mentioned a possible DOnaire-Rigo bout at 122 if Donaire gets past Montiel. I think Donaire beats Montiel easy but Rigo handles him.

No one in the sport has the combination of speed, power & skill that rigo has at the moment. Even PBF doesnt have the power and Pac although very skilled is not as schooled as the 2 time olympic gold medalist!

They havent even announced an opponent yet. Put a world champ in there and Rigo is world champ by end of the month.

They were hoping to put him in with Caballero before he moved up.

Word is they are hoping to line him up against prospect Victor Fonseca early next year before giving him a title shot.

He's been managed terribly so far which is a shame because I think he's capable of becoming top 5 p4p.

Indeed. Rigondeaux is a beast! This guy did'nt lose a single fight at the World's best amateur tournaments for 10 straight years! He is 6 time World amateur Champ ( which that by itself is unbelievable ), 2 times Olympic Gold medalist ( would had won the third Gold if he had'nt defected ) and like 7 times Cuban National Champion!

Even though he is 29 years old, he is a great athlete and can possibly fight strongly well into his late 30's. He is fighting this month and the next too, and I agree, he needs to fight at least once a month in order to get his record up. I will go out of my way to say this and I know that I will be highly critized for it but here it goes: RIGONDEAUX CAN DEFEAT JUANMA LOPEZ AT 122 OR 126LBS AS OF RIGHT NOW, HECK HE CAN EVEN DEFEAT HIM IN HIS PRO DEBUT !!! Yes, I said that...

Yes, that's how good he is. He is without a doubt the best Cuban defector ever to become pro, but it's up to him to keep focused and not let the US temptations get to him as it has ruined a lot of the other top Cuban defectors like Garbey, Gonzalez, Ledon's, Iribarren etc etc etc...

Rigondeaux is better than Pacquiao and Mayweather put together, yes that's right! Hopefully, now he can continue his career and take care of every opponent in the ring " Santiago de Cuba style ". I believe that he will become World Champion in less than 8 pro fights, then after that, let's have an all Cuban war between Yuriorkis Gamboa and Guillermo Rigondeaux at 126lbs!!! :good

I agree with everything you said. Rigo is a total beast and it's definitely time for him to step it up. Can't wait to see him in there with someone like Donaire... I think he would destroy Donaire. He will be a champion... it's just a matter of time.

If you have Rigondeaux that high, you're overrating the hell out of him. I went to his off-TV bout against Lante Addy, and while he didn't struggle, he certainly wasn't impressive either. Wait until he gets matched up with tougher oppositions and a few of his more glaring weaknesses will start to show.

Biggest issue is that he's way too hesitant to throw punches unless he has the perfect opening. But overall, his style is just better suited to the amateurs than to the pro game. Stick him in there with a good pressure fighter or a good defensive fighter, and he'll show flaws.
