Why do people only look at a boxrec record to judge a fighter? Look at them in the ring. The regular pro boxer with Rigo's record would be considered a prospect. But why don't you actually watch him in the ring? He's a master and he has won two gold medals. Everybody needs to stfu with the "Oh he's only had 11 fights" nonsense. It's irrelevant, and Rigo is pushing hard to get Donaire in the ring with him. Donaire needs to stop running and fight the guy everybody wants to see him fight. If Rigo is so far beneath him then why not just get him out of the way? Donaire knows that Rigo is the real deal.

Nonito is a sitting target for Rigo. Put him against Rigo, and not only he doesn't land str8 rights down the pipe like he did against Nishioka but Rigo staggers him on the counter. Have people realized here that Marroquin beat Broner twice in the amateurs?

it would be a good fight . rigo is overated based on his pro resume.. he has an impressive amateur resume but essentially that doesnt mean anything . that doesnt mean he should fight donaire wen he didnt do **** as a pro. i seen him fight a few times lotta the times kinda boring , a close fight wit cordoba an boring. i think it was close cuz freddie was training him n freddie was trying to switch his style up . i seen him fight ramos and kennedy n steamrolled them. i dont really think he did enuff to fight donaire but i still think he has the skillset to be in the same ring as donaire.

so donaire needs to test himself but rigo doesnt? because he's already tested right? donaire recently jump up in weight this year, started with a young champ in vasquez jr. unlike the guy rigo fought to win his belt who is btw obviously a paper champ. Then nonito beat the other 2 champs in the division, if that is not already impressive in today's boxing standards I don't know what is:lol:. So what has rigo done lately?:think

Hilarious the Donaire fans scared about a possible Rigondeaux fight trying to discredit him

There is no money in this fight yet. The risk to reward balance is terrible. Rigo just needs to beat a real name convincingly and let casual pro boxing fans know who the **** he is. Then it will happen.

Rigo is overrated in terms of resume, it's garbage in comparison to type fighters in that division. However... in terms of talent, he is at the head of the class, at par or even above Nonito. This is why people go crazy for him. I still think Nonito beats him.

basically this. the guy is fighting half of his fights at super bantam but no where did i see in his resume a top contender aside from ramos.
why not the other contenders first if cant make a fight with donaire now?
that would still be good as it would ultimately lead to a mega fight.

true. but you have to consider donaire was moving up in weight at that time. its understood that he was testing the waters, besides mathebula was a decent fighter.. going up against rigo at that time is suicide.

better question is why is rigo not taking other contenders seeing as how he has been on the super bantam weight in half of his fights? he has established himself as an elite fighter at that weight yet his opponents are conidered no namers aside from ramos.

One of the most overrated fighters on this forum. There are people on here who seem to think that he is ready for a fighter like Donaire who has proven time and again he is ready to fight the best and beat them. Seriously if Rigondeaux was to fight Donaire next I can see him getting KTFO'd within 6 rounds.

you need both. a master performance indeed but you also have to consider the quality of opponents and that is reflected in his record.
i like to see both go at it but we have to be realistic, rigo needs to prove it first and there are many names he can fight in the division.

to call him overrated is just stupid the man is a two time Olympic champion and was arguably the best amateur boxer that has ever been ,,, granted he only has 11 fights but the last 4 fighters he has faced have respectable records and he has not looked in any REAL trouble in any of his fights if anything thing he looks like he gets bored IMO that how he got caught in his last fight and when he did he handle it ,,, i would like to see him in with bigger names i think it would bring out the best in him ,,, but thats hard to do when it seems they dont want to go near him ,,, you dont see anyone calling him out and from donaire's (who is a future hall of famer IMO) post fight interview last night it came across to me that he dont want the fight with rigo.
