Rigondeaux knocks Mares out

    This worked once on floyd , once and even then it was a losing effort ..
    Mares will not beat Rigs. Rig hits the hardest of the two and he's allot better skilled. Mares will get KOed by 7. There nothing in Mares arsenal that Rig would not be able to handle .
    Rigs at this stage needs a real challenge, I don't see Mares being that challenge. I see Mares being another notch in Rig's belt.

    Castillo was a skilled pressure fighter using his physical strength, Mares is a skilled brawler using speed and athleticism, bad example. Plus JLC's style was relatively new for Floyd at that age, and I doubt Rigo seen (or will ever see) anything new in the ring since... 2008. Donaire was the no1 dangerman, Mares is like taking on Paul Williams after Kelly Pavlik. The difference was not in skill level but Kelly's ability to spark Martinez out at any time which somewhat tamed him. In the PDub rematch however, unlikely to get stopped by the volume puncher, Martinez went to the chin hard and early, which is exactly what Rigo will do if Abner brings the fight to him.

    no. rigondeaux beat mares in the amateurs. i thought he would beat mares before he beat donaire. mares jumped up in weight. he said he wants the fight...but i doubt it happens.

    if and when they fight....rigondeaux beats the cheat.

    Yeah, in the fights I saw of his previously he was the smaller man in the ring weight wise. He doesn't gain much after the weigh in.

    Wasn't Mares still a teenager with about 1/4 of Rigo's amateur experience.:think

    I think Mares would be a difficult fight for Rigo, well actually anyone in that general weight range for that matter. I don't know who would win, but I know I'd love to see it, both are great fighters.

    Based on what? Mares is as tough as they come, and will take on any challenge. Mares is going to bring that heat and Rigo will get hit more than at any other point in his career. How will Rigo respond to the constant pressure and bullying that Mares will bring? That is the bigger question in my eyes.

    I would favor Rigo by UD but I wouldn't count Mares out as he has shown amazing ability to adapt to his opponents.

    listen,ydsab because if u did u would know that the reason donaire looked the way he did was cause when he tried pressure rigo made him pay for it.

    when mares fought moreno,moreno was tagging the **** out of mares over and over but moreno has no power or pop so mares kept coming.

    rigo has power that mares would be bleeding,swolen and on the floor a few times untill he gets stopped or ref stops the abuse.

    i like mares but no way does he **** with rigo.
