I wanna see Rigondeaux against Gerry Peñalosa except he's already retired.

Shields almost got him knocked out in the 8th round was it? Everyone wants him to becomes more explosive but that's gonna take time. He's gonna need to be exposed to the pro style little by little. Rigo is gonna be pissed though, he downed for the first time in that fight, and since that reverted back to his amateur style. Can't blame for doing so even though it was boring as hell.

Oye, tranquilo. What do you mean running all night? I just saw the first 5 rounds and Rigo was in total control and hitting Cordoba at will. What more do you want? Cordoba is 3 inches taller than Rigo and with more reach and with vast pro experience. I still haven't seen the last 6 rounds but even if he ran more so what? Boxing is about skills and not standing in there and trading to get hit, you seem to have forgotten how los Cubanos fight, with skills without the necessity of being like the rest who stand in there to get hit. I didn't see anything wrong with Rigo, I am very sure he will only get better and better with more confidence. Don't be too hard judging a guy who had 6 pro fights and was fighting an ex-World champion and going 12 rounds for the very first time in his young career! I mean who does that nowdays??? :huh

Instead of critizicing, try and wait to see him again when he gets more pro confidence... :good

Also there was a round (or many) in which Rigo didn't get hit by a SINGLE punch, Don't remember anyone doing that since prime Roy.

He does have to change. He is in the lower weight class so just winning fights is not enough down there. To have people look down there and actually pay attention you need to put on exciting performances. For the first 4 rounds i saw one of the best pure boxers in the sport then once he went down he got on his bike. He looked uncomfortable pressuring but he needs to keep practicing. JMM made that change very effectively. He used to be just a counter puncher but once he saw he was getting lost to MAB and EM he changed up his style and became more aggressive. Not people started noticing him and love him.

The thing is even when JMM was a pure counter puncher when he got hit he didnt go on his bike. He fired right back.
Is Rigo missing this instinct? I hope not. Because he is beautiful to watch when he attacks.

They need to throw Rigo in with some maulers. Guys who are relentless. He will never change.

Floyd Mayweather doesn't have a "pro style" IMO, infact he spends most of the fight, fighting on the balls of his feet, rarely plants his feet to close the show, even when his opponent is begging to be taken out(Marquez), it hasn't done him any harm.

Rigondeaux probably will be more offensive when fighting someone who is going to be more cooperative.

Although I have to say, I missed that undercard fight so..

Rigo was amazing the first five rounds. The rest of the fight he ran. I was really disappointed. If he would have fought the entire fight like he did the first five he would have gotten the KO. I don't know if he has stamina issues or what but the second half of that fight was awful.

Bro...I'm Cuban like you...but what I saw and heard from Rigo has made me believe that he does not want to change his amateur style and that's unacceptable out here. He needs to find that intermediate point between defense and offensive, not only to please himself and stay safe from getting hit but also to bring excitement and interest in the public, that's ultimately who is going to be the judge and pay his income.
Rigo needs to feel the negative-constructive criticism in every single forum and the public opinion needs to be heard by his trainer, manager and Rigo himself. A change must come and he needs a lot of work to do, if he wants no only to be a champ but also a Cuban hero...!
