He's facing his very first stern test as a pro against a veteran.

When I am having a bigger fight coming up, I prefer to have more attention on me to help with conditioning, etc...

As a boxer I can relate to how he feels.

If you want a prime example of an A fighter, turned B fighter due to lack of dedicated coaches/coaching in general... look no further than Miguel Cotto.

Not being too rude, sorry if I came across as standoffish... :bbb

You don't need your trainer for routine conditioning stuff. Freddie doesn't even do that with Manny, Manny has Ariza and Buboy working with him on that. The main job of the trainer is to work on technique and strategy, not to get you to run in the morning. Most professional fighters I have seen, depending on their level, either do conditioning on their own, or are working with a strength and conditioning coach, but I have never seen the trainer micromanage a fighter like that. Rigo is out of his mind if he expects Freddie to hold his hand every step of the way.

Maybe that's why he was doing pad work with Roger, maybe he already switched?

    that is stupid.

miguel cotto never went from a to b

and what about all the other trainers who has to divide their time?

nazim trained bernard/shane/cunningham all at once, nacho trains 5 or 6 fighters at once, ronnie shields has a packed gym, roach had to divide his time between toney/pacquiao/vasquez/penasola at one time.

what a stupid reason to pull rank over (yes i boxed, and now i coach).

im not mad at what rigondeaux did, he knows whats good for his career.

It would be most excellent, but DeCubas says (not necessarily the truth) that he's back in Miami with a sore back and looking for a trainer.

I have no idea what's the real story, but he wasn't training with Roger by accident and the released video might have caused the mess and quick split. Hopefully he's healthy, and if he is, he better get to Mayweather's gym and start training for a fight. Every day counts.

Im with you on the rounds thing, less rounds obviously mean should be fresher to fight more often, but this upcoming fight would have been his 6th in 11 months, despite the lack of rounds, too call this 'fighting too little' is harsh for me!

Plus if he feels he wants to fight more and says to freddy 'this aint working i need to fight more', freddy would surely say 'ok mate, its your call'. Doubt he'd risk losing a top prospect just cause he (if he even did) disagreed with that.

Roach had said many times that Jose Benavides will be his future, so its obvious who has his attention.

A much more proven fighter like Rigondeaux should be given attention that he deserves.

I saw a video of Rigondeaux hitting the pads with Unca Rog. If he stays with him then it's definitely the right move.

Rogers as good as Roach at the style he teaches but i think someone like roach or nacho would suit rigondeaux alot more.
