Look Rigondeaux was an exceptional amateur talent and there is no doubting that. His record speaks for itself. As a pro he is looking good so far. My post isn't protesting about how good he is or may be prove to be.
I'm simply pointing out that he has'nt done anythgin major YET but people seem to be treating his CURRENT status in the pro ranks like the 2nd coming of Jezus. It's just my opinion. He may be a great but like you say - lets wait first before he is declared "on top of the division" as man on this website seem to claim.

he's a great boxer and has a lot of great tools.. the one tool he doesnt have is punching power and that might be his downfall... he can be as good as whitaker or better or he could be another hurtado... . i think he can be a big player in the division but he's taking too long and is gonna be late.. plus i dont know how good is his dedication to the gym... i would love for him to have big fights and do good but until then he's just that an old prospect with a great amateur pedegree

    :hat

Rigondeaux punching power is way superior than Gamboa's. Those who know Rigo well know that. His style is very cautious one and we would like to see him a little more aggressive but that might take a while. Freedy was trying to show him that but Rigo is an institution and his style has work and changes will come slowly.
You guys have a very poor idea about the cuban boxer quality. Cordoba boxing skills will never be a match for Rigo. On saturday will see the superiority of the Cuban boxing school over any other. Prop boxing nowadays is suffering from a very bad health and cuban fighters will bring the needed class to it. Lara, Rigondeaux, Gamboa, Despaigne, Dorticos, Ugas, Luis Garcia, Mike, Perez, Ordaniel Solis,Luis Franco,etc..are just a few of the Cuban boxers that will bring the Cuba's name to the top.
Rigondeaux....is better any single way that any boxer you can compare, even Manny Pacquioa would get a piece of boxing lesson with him. The problem is that Rigo's defense is son unreal that is almost impossible to land a punch on his anatomy..and the best defense with the lethal punching power he has....will make him, definitely and winner.

Well, immature fans aren't going to spoil Rigondeaux for me so I'm afraid I'll have to add a few of you to my ignore list. It already happened with Gamboa - last time out I was for the other guy. This has got to stop now.
