We wont see the best of Rigondeaux until he steps up in class. When he fights someone who can be competitive and is not just there to make up the numbers. That is when we will see his true style and the full range of his counter punching ability. I would take him to beat anybody from Bantamweight (Arum thinks he can make the weight) through to Featherweight. Juanma Lopez would be the perfect style matchup for Rigo and would be a great fight in 6 months to a years time.
It's likely to happen as they are both Top Rank fighters. When it happens, I actually think Rigondeaux will make Lopez look silly. Gamboa, with his speed, would be a much tougher fight for Rigo imo. Ricardo Cordoba is who they are trying to get , this would be a huge step up. Cordoba has wins over Cabalerro and narrowly lost to Poonsawat.
this could generate big PPV sales. If this fight outsolds pbf-mosley fight, pac will demand a 50/50 purse or bigger in the next negotiations with floyd and we will never gonna see the two fight ever again since pac is gonna retire anytime soon.
Agree completely Gamboa's freakish handspeed makes him a nightmare for anyone. But if anyone can beat him I think it's Rigondeaux. Cordoba would be an excellent step up for next fight. Joseph Agbeko would be a good choice as well.
he's marketable bro, he's bringing WWE tactics to boxing and when you add that with the fact that most people just pay to hopefully see him get ko'd, YOU GOT YOURSELF A SUPERSTAR...... plus, how many defensive fighters are actually popular ???? maybe only like 5 in the last 50 years.....
we'll see...but comparing him to pea right now is not the thing to do........especially if he wants to gain some american fans :yep
This is a fight I am hoping will happen. If Donaire beats Montiel then there has already been talk of him jumping straight up to Super Bantamweight. They are both with Toprank but would Arum risk putting them in together so soon. Plenty more money to get out of them yet.
Uhhh, Freddy is utterly jealous, sour and ardido. :rofl Typical Mexican... You dare speak **** about Rigondeaux while praising the sack of **** that is Chávez Jr. atsch
i dont praise chavez jr but their opponents are comparable in their first few fights and guillermo has 2 ****en gold medals for ****s sake, while chavez had an exibition with paez ****en jr
