    From what I understand:

    • Rigo is currently under contract with Hyde, and any matches being made for Rigo need Hyde's consent. This Marroquin fight was made without Hyde's knowledge.
    • Hyde claims Rigo, after winning the title from Ramos, was tied to a two-year extension. Rigo, however, is saying this two-year extension began way back when he bear Cordoba, and that it's due to run out this November.
And check this **** out I just got from ESPN, involving a possible move to GBP:

I'd be surprised if Hyde really has Rigondeaux's best interests at heart, but I'd be even more surprised if Top Rank does given their record in "promoting" Cuban fighters.

If Rigondeaux gets a more lucrative contract, Hyde gets a more lucrative cut and everybody wins.

Rigo's possibly shooting himself in the foot here but who knows if the GBP contract is real or not, or what the devil is in the details.

If he goes to GBP we may never get to see him fight Donaire.

May never see it anyway, MAres would be ideal. Gary Russell Jr may be an option as well.

Yeah, given his willingness to fight Moreno, I think Mares would actually take on Rigondeaux if they shared a promoter, something Donaire hasn't demonstrated.

I'm sure the Donaire fans will be here shortly though by saying going to a promotional company that gives him a better offer means Rigondeaux was actually scared of Donaire the whole time. Hell some of them in this very thread are claiming he got himself sued on purpose.

It looks like his contract with Hyde said that after winning a championship he was tied for 2 yrs. technically he became interim champ after beating cordoba and that will be 2 yrs in November .It depends of the interpretation of the contract, here is when lawyers come in handy. And depends at the end of what the judge rules.
As much as I dislike Arum, his crew at BW ,SBW is better than GBP ,I don't believe either way he gets to fight Donaire because Nonito himself has made clear he doesn't want any piece of Rigo.
As young as Marroquin is, he's tough enough to put a decent performance.
Hope they fight sept 15, I'm already hyped for that card.

some people are quick to label Hyde a "leech"? I don't think people were calling him this when he financed Rigo and helped him provide for his family before, during and after his defect. And for this reason - think its unfair to label him as the bad guy here. Maybe if Rigo just honored the original contract he had this wouldn't have happened?

Don#t get me wrong I want to see him fight too but fair is fair. The first court case was won in Hydes favour so its not as if the evidence wasn't there?

I've always said it , that guy is one of the biggest leaches in the sport nowadays , he's even worse than Arum or Oner whose at least got a proper Promotion Company going and are good ( if " pickish " ) matchmakers , when those guys want a fight to happen you can bet your house it will . Hyde's not a good manager and he's a **** matchmaker , the only bouts he tried to make for Rigo ( Bahktyn and Casey both in Europe ) didn't make sense at the time even when Rigo dismantled Casey in one , I doubt he has had a say in Rigo's former fights , all he did was spent $500 miserly dollars in Cuba to sign Rigo ( con job ) and then sit back and watch the money roll in . It's obvious he wants to hang on to the gravy train for as long as he can and don't want the party to stop . His " contract " should expire on November but he's trying to extended it somehow . This should be a learning lesson for Rigo , he doesn't really need all those leaches around him ( Caribe Promotions , etc ) , he only needs ONE Promoter ( T.R ) and ONE manager ( Al Hymon ) IMO . He should start cleaning house for 2013 , then he'll make real good money . Peace .

¿ How did he provide for Rigo's family when in Cuba ? , ¿ by giving him $500 for a " contract "? , lol , that guy IS a leach , he wants to play in the big leagues but he don't know how so he conned Rigo ( that was the first straw ) into signing with him . ANYBODY in Cuba would have signed a " contract " for less than that , the difference is in the person , the individual . If he had been honest with Rigondeaux from the begining none of these would've happened . Rigo would have stayed with him trough hell but he's not an honest person , he's a leach and Rigo realized it . Never seen a " manager " that has to go to court so much as this guy does , ¿ what does that tell you ? . The guy is vermin .
