Not an official source, but I heard this: There was a chance of Rigo facing former champ Vic darchiyan next month. Nothing signed yet. Since Nonitos camp is calling for a fight in march, Rigo's camp is pushing to cancel the Feb date and go straight after Nonito in march. TR isn't convinced of this idea. The plans were matching Nonito probably with Mijares and have the Rigo -Nonito clash in June as it was promised to Hyde. I can't bank on this source since it doesn't come straight from Rigo's camp.
Great fight bro. these are the fights he needs Darchynian, wvjr, terrazas, Rafael Marquez guys that enhance his resume and give him the opportunity to shine.
Nice, Darchiniyan is past his prime but hasn't absorbed a bad beating other than against Nonito. However, if I was managing Darch I'd be avoiding Rigo like the plague.
Hopefully they make Mares vs. Donaire first and let Rigo have a few more fights under his belt. I wouldn't mind waiting a little longer for Rigondeaux vs. Donaire as long as it takes place sometime this year.
i like that fight . but how bout donaire i hope we can get donaire vs mares then everything would be great. i pick rigo to beat donaire tho but rigo can find himself in a exciting fight foe once cuz he is kinda boring, it was fun watching him knock down teon kennedy like 5 times
Gamesmanship. He'll retire Darchinyan, and deprive Donaire of the easy big payday & glorifying performance a rematch would afford him.
he prolly would retire vic. hes been around for a while if he loses to rigo he might call it quits. but there is no shame to losing to rigo. even tho he hasnt done too much in his very short career. wut does he have like ten fights? but hes fought way better comp then alotta guys in ther first 10-15 fights. but his backround explains that. and age wut is he like 32 ?
Mnn..if the ppl say is a good fight then it's a good fight but for me Vic is an small 118 pounder with many losses who is not ranked in the top even of his own division but if ppl say is worth wait we wait...Rigo will win like allways and against everybody...
:deal He is older, but I still don't see why he shouldn't have these intermediate fights. Don't blame TR for not wanting to throw him in with Nonito the instant he is even close to being ready. I enjoy watching Rigo and I'd like him to get a couple good paydays in against name fighters before he makes or breaks his career against Nonito. He should have an entertaining win over Vic.
