rigo has said he would like to fight mares.. if the fight does eventuate who do you see taking this one and how
I think Mares will let his hands go more than Donaire did. Rigs has the defense to make him pay for being careless. I'd love to see the fight.
Unless Rigo goes up in weight, this fight won't happen. Mares went up in weight because it was getting harder for him to make 122, and he doesn't seem to be lying unlike that sack of **** Donaire. If the fight takes place at feather, I'd go for Mares on points; although, Mares does have the power to keep Rigondeaux honest. I thought Mares was going to UD PDL, but everyone knows what happened. I wouldn't be surprised if Mares KO's Rigo. The guy was wobbled by lesser fighters than Mares.
I read this line on an article from a fan in the Ring mailbag this morning and it made me and think this guy sounds a boxing notstradamus: "Know what? I'll pick Mr. Mares over almost any other 122 or 126 pounder out there. Guillermo Rigondeaux just doesn't punch hard or often enough to protect his balls or the rest of his anatomy."
Top Rank will not go for it, and if they happen to, it will be at 122. Mares has to tighten up and can not get wild not even for a second. Mares did good against PDL demonstrating a very good chin, but he got wild at times and seemed to disregard his technique. He can't do this against Rigo. He has to fight more intelligently and with more focus on technique.
Totally agree my brother. I give Mares much credit for going up in weight and winning his first World Title at 126lbs and beating a very strong fighter in PDL but Rigo is on a completely different level. Rigo said, " I already beat Mares in the ams by a wide 17-7 margin and now with no headgear and smaller gloves I will knock him out ". Saludos! :good
I think Rigo wins this one by UD. However, I'd like to see the winner fight Leo Santa Cruz next. Santa Cruz would give either a lot of trouble
