I was reading an article in spanish if anyone needs proof ill post it. Anyways it was an interview with caballeros promoter and he was saying that hbo confirmed with him that caba would be fighting rigondeaux april 10th at 126 as long as rigo signs the contract. Apparently Rigo Decubas and company are making the decicion of wether or not take the fight , if the fight is not signed then caballero would be part of the mosley-mayweather undercard may 1 Decubas and rigo have been saying lately that noone with a big name gives them a shot just because rigo only has 4 fights well here is the perfect opportunity let's just see if they back down or man up and sign the deal. i would love to see this fight at already 29 he should take this opportunity ready or not, it might be his only opportunity to be on hbo so he should jump on it
Rigo needs to do this before its too late, like you said he's 29 and can't afford to wait too long. Also can you post it? Not that I don't believe you I just want to read it too.
This would show tremendous ambition on Rigo's part. I've said before though, that with his amateur expeience (he's arguably the greatest amateur ever) he doesn't need to waste time fighting a bunch of glorofied club-fighters who can't possibly teach him anything. I was hoping he would take a big step up in competition this year but this would surpass anything I had in mind. Caballero is a horrible style for anyone in or around his weight class. Rigo would make a statement just by taking this fight - if he were to win, it puts him in line for all the big fights at 126, which is starting to look pretty stacked.
why at 126lbs aint caballero champion at 122 and rigo is campaining at 122 also why would they do it at 126... if im rigo and decide to take the fight i ask for it to be at 122 and for the tittle.. why take the risk with no rewards. :hat:hat
Don't think 126 is a good idea for Rigondeaux. Rigo should wait a few more fights anyway before going for a title, but fighting P4P Top15 Caballero at a higher class in a non-title fight in his 6th fight doesn't make sense at all, too much too early for nothing. Don't get me wrong, he should be moved fast, but fighting these C-level guys and jumping to A+ all of the sudden is not the smartest move by the team no matter how talented the classy Cuban is.
Isn't Caballero struggling to make 122? He must be - just look at the size of him! Title or not, beating a fighter of this calibre would put Rigo in a great position to get even bigger fights at 126.
it would be ****ing insane if Rigo took this.... omg I am a massive Rigo fan because I just think hes put his entire life literally in this boxing dream and he seems so desperate to get into the mix of things. insane
yeah Cab's gonna have to move up to 126 if he hopes for any success on his journey to fnd: This content is protected
I go Gamboa man, I don't see anybody messing with him right now. Rigo is a tad to stingy with his punches
Thats the point. He should take the dangerous fight. If it's going to be on HBO that alone would make it worth it for the exposure. It's not about taking easy fights if nobody even knows who you are, if you take difficult fights and you win on HBO then people know who you are and might even start paying money to see you.
Gamboa vs Rigo would be a fight between two rediculously talented fighters. Maybe even two of the best ever. And it would never get the hype it deserves
WTF have they done to be consider best ever.. neither of these two fighters have done **** yet so lets hold on to this best ever insanity. :hat:hat
