Rigondeaux, ( CUB ) and Lomachenko, ( UKR ) are without a doubt two of the best amateur boxers of all times and the best thing is that they are also professionals now. Rigo has already showed what he can do as a pro while Loma still has to prove it but the topic here is " the amateurs ".

Both Rigo and Loma are 2 times Olympic Champion and multiple World Amateur Champions. They were both the # 1 P4P fighter of their careers.

But ... who shined most in the amateurs ???

    Guillermo Rigondeaux

    Olympics

    Gold
    2000 Sydney Bantamweight
    Gold
    2004 Athens Bantamweight

    World Amateur Championships

    Gold 2001 Belfast Bantamweight
    Gold 2005 Mianyang

    Pan American Games

    Gold
    2003 Santo Domingo Bantamweight

    Central American and Caribbean Games

    Gold 2006 Cartagena Bantamweight

    World Cup

    Gold 2002 Astana Bantamweight
    Gold
    2005 Moscow Bantamweight

    Vasyl Lomachenko

    3 Times World Amateur Champion ( 2007, 2009, 2011 ).
    2 Times Olympic Champion.
    European Champion 2008.

    Vote!

Hard to compare. They were both great amateurs. Some boxers are great amateurs, but not good pros, and some are ok amateurs and turn out to be great pros.

Lomachencko was a Val Barker winner on top of being utterly dominant.

I believe that most fans who voted for Loma didn't see the amateur accomplishments that I updated in my first thread. Analyze!!!

Why are you including tournaments like central american, pan american and world cup? Those are insignificant tournaments.

Also why are those nothing tournaments bolded and Lomachenko's achievements literally minimised? Your presentation lays out your motives pretty clearly, I'm a fan of Cuban boxing and Rigo but come on man.

Lomachenko only lost once in 400 fights, Rigondeaux lost 12 times. Lomachenko was a val barker winner, Rigo wasn't.
It's close but I think it has to be Lomachenko, especially when you take into account that he did it with a more 'pro' style as well.

What weight will Lomachenko be fighting at in the pros? And what age is he? If he's as good or better than Rigondeaux this is great for professional boxing, assuming he makes the transition well of course.

    Yes it is.

Rigo has 2 amateur world championships and 2 olympic gold medals.
Loma has 3 amateur world championships and 2 olympic gold medals, one where he won Val Barker's trophy.

    It's very clear now.

Given to the most outstanding boxer in the olympics.

The last cuban to win it was Roberto Balado, a magnificent heavyweight.
