mares coming up to 122, looking for big fights and big names.
Rigondeaux stuck with a belt at 122 and no big names available to fight.Even willing to go down to 118.
can these 2 fight?...other than GBP-TR bull****, what else can get in the middle?

Rigondeaux brings nothing to the table, no Cubans, nothing.

I would love to see that one. My money would be on Rigo but I would love to see how Rigo would deal with Mares pressure. Rigo did show that pressure could trouble him in the Cordoba fight and Mares is much better than him.

Mares can get hit too much at times although i heard he outboxed the crap out of Agbeko in the rematch. I still have not watched that fight....

Maybe that is what I will do right now.

    Still for now Rigo KO.

I saw both fights and i always predicted what finally happened the second fight: Mares beatifully outboxed Agbeko- i still dont understand all the BS with the low blows the first fight, i guess since he noted he could get away with it he kept going low.
I believe if Mares gets aggressive and comes after Rigo he will get KO his only chance is fighting a lazy fight and making Rigo look boring while they both look to counterpunch.
Dont expect again to see the same novice Rigo-too cautious and shy-who fought Cordoba,he can take a few rds to find the opening like he did against Rico or go after the jugular the first rd like he did against casey.
Reckon that mares is way better boxer than both Rico and Casey.

I am at work right now so I am watching it slowly but I am seeing a major flaw with Mares in that fight. When inside and he lets his hands go he drops his hands for a split second. That is a very amateur move and I am surprised I am seeing it so much in the first rounds of this fight.
He drops his right hand like that against Rigo and that left finds a home.

I used to like Mares much more when he fought under Beristain. I have actually seen his skills suffer from leaving him. I wish he would just go back to him.

I agree with this, I see Mares giving Rigo some problems but with Rigo eventually outboxing him en route to a counter punch KO.

its true, but dont forget he already fought 12 rds with agbeko and wasnt impressed by his power.Sometimes, like Donaire did against vasquez , confidence makes you careless and vulnerable.I dont think he will do the same against Rigo.

Mares is leagues above the fighters Rigo has faced so far, I can see Mares taking a decission if he applies enough pressure in an intelligent manner.

Ofc, there's always the possibilty that Rigo will flatten him with a well placed body blow counter.

Mares against Rigondeaux would be a great scrap. I would like to see Mares fight a tune up at 122, before taking on the best in that division ( Rigondeaux ).

Both Abner and Guillermo have skills and some flaws, but Rigon might be too much for Mares at 122. Like I said I would like to see Mares at 122 in a tune up to see how well he fills in.

Cubans bring great boxers but no fanbase. Their fighters have to hope that the Mexicans or Puerto Ricans will adopt them and bring them the bargaining power they need because obviously thr Cubans won't support them.
