Casamayor did pretty good without trasvesting himself into a mariachi. what happen is that last few years boxing has become more of a circus, that fan base bull**** is getting old.
you r so off, you have been brainwashed repeating what uncle Bob and others, bring the fight to Miami and we will come, just like 30 years ago we used to go to the Garden back in NYC, in 2004-05 I don't remember exactly Casamayor fought Seda at the Miami Arena and the place was packed, they do some cards at the Hard Rock in the Seminole and the place is always full, that is BS that we not support our fighters, lame excuse for not pitch them against the cash cows, actually if Lara vs Canelo were to happens in Mexico, they don't need no Cubans, Canelo by himself will fill the Stadium, Rigondeaux vs Nonito in San Francisco or Philippines, Gamboa vs Lopez in PR, they are excuses and the single minded people will not only believe it but will spread the lie...
Greetings my brother! You are right and you truly understand your boxing. Mares is pretty good but Rigo is a beast and to come up in weight to face him it's even worse. If Rigo would go down to 118 it could be more competitive but Rigo's skills and amateur pedigree it's still too much for Mares. Great observation! :good
Great fight, Abner Mares keeps getting better and better and Rigondeaux literally has no stopping him with his talent and vast amateur experience. I think Abner Mares would do good, but ultimately lose a fight to Rigo by UD. I'd like to see this fight though.
I partially agree with you. The US based Cubans are not really " boxing fans " but mainly follow baseball. The reason? The US based Cubans are 97% white and the vast majority of white Cubans don't really follow nor participate in boxing. The black Cubans are the ones who really follow and participate in boxing but they only make up about 2-4% of the total Cuban population in the USA. This is a fact, 95% of black Cubans are inside Cuba and they are the real, " Cuban boxing fans ". Now, there is a pretty big Cuban boxing audience in the US ( specially in South Florida ) that do follow the Cubans. They may not be nearly close to the Mexican and Rican fans in number but they have a pretty good amount of followers. The promoters need to do a better job promoting the Cubans in the US and I am sure that more and more Cubans will support them. Will it be like the Mexican and Rican fan base? Don't think so but it could be enough to give the Cuban boxers much attention and support.
