In texas with same referee , rigo may get knocked down a few times , he's pretty chiny and if salido is allowed to punch low , then it's a tossup. Prob Rigo UD

50/50 fight imo, Rigo obviously is massively more skilled but Salido is a far bigger fighter. Rigo is only 5'4 and a natural 118lb fighter, he would rehydrate to 126-128 at the most on fight night compared to Salido coming in at ~147. Salido is better than Marroquin and would dwarf Marroquin as well, and Rigo hasn't dealt with a guy like Salido over 12 in the pros. If Rigo could keep away then he could win a points decision.

I know you're one of the biggest loma supporters, I had it draw and considering that was in texas and salido was punching his balls all night ,i think he would have won that fight anywhere else, anyway man he needs new trainer ,his daddy should have told him to punch salido body and punch his balls, he should have told him to throw uppercuts. I hope he'll come back stronger and with new trainer.

Yeah man, while I was watching the fight I was literally shouting out "Where are the body shots". I don't think he needed to resort to throwing lowblows though. I think his dad wanted him to slowly turn up the pace to ensure that he wasn't tired in the championship rounds, I think it would've been better for Lomachenko to turn it up from the start and fade if anything. If he did that there would've been a good chance that he would've taken Salido out before it got to those rounds imo.
His father is a very intelligent man so I'm sure he learned some things as well. He is a master coach over the distances he's used to and he's gaining an education on the pacing of 12 rounds, the same as Loma. I admire their ambition and I thought they were very unlucky not to get the decision in the end. If the judges just swung a round the other way or scored the last 10-8 then we'd be talking about a new record and the tune would be very different. We'd have a fighter who had a tough fight but still got the win. Factor in the weight disparity and incompetent ref, it really was a fight that was a fraction away from being a massively different story.
The majority of fans lack perspective in that regard, but I'm still as high on Lomachenko as I've ever been. I knew that if he was ever going to stumble it was going to be in this fight, against Salido over 12 in his second fight. I believe he won and the upside is massive, Lomachenko is a learner with his humble attitude so I know he will learn his lessons he needed to from the fight.

Because you said Marroquin hurt him so Salido could, you made it sound as if Salido would finish him, but if Donaire couldnt finish him Salido wouldnt

So he knocked him down but couldnt finish him and lost every other round, amazing.

Depends on which Salido he fights. If its the one that cheats on the scales and comes in as a welter then Rigo probably loses
