Ok, but if you have a belt you are suposse to defend it and then you are gonna be fighting contenders, and Rigo is a contender...do we have to wait until Vazquez Jr is ready to fight someone other than a 19 yrs old who moved from 108 lbs?

LOL 108 really? He came up from 115 so dont change the facts to make your point look better. And yes rigo is a contender but a new champion gets the opportunity to face a couple of not so hard contenders for his first couple of fights. Rigo will get his opportunity for sure but vazquez doesnt has to face him in his first defense.

Dude, the guy started at 108 and most his fights were at 112,only one at 115 and he is 19 yrs old...i believe he was rushed too much.
then what u want? the champ should fight whoever is in line for a title ,if Vazquez isnt ready for stiff competition then he should give up his belt..or u want him to keep fighting teenagers and washed ups boxers?
i dont doubt his skills but i have someone in that division who i also like and cheer for and want him to be a champ as much as you want Jr to be a champ...and if one day Rigo gets a belt i want to see him defending it against the best.

I'd say Florida, huge Cuban population, decent Boricua population.

So. you're saying that Vazquez Jr. should take the Julilo Ceaser Chavez Jr. route to success?

Fight bums and live off of daddy's name?

Definetly Florida or MSG...FL got the cuban population, and NY got the rican population

No. I am saying he would probably lose to Rigondeaux right now. Keyword: PROBABLY. And that is because I really value the experience Rigondeaux has. But Papito gave a nice exhibition last night and it wont surprise me if he manages to pull the win. The kid is motivated and dedicated. If I was the manager I look at least three good fights before even thinking about Rigondeaux. Rigondeaux is a risk, no doub. But the worst part is Rigondeaux is a risk without benefits. He has no name yet, He doesn't sell. He will, but not yet. He needs to beat a few more guys yet. Vazquez opportunity to fight for a tittle didn't come in three days.

who said vazquez is going to defend it against bums and teenagers.. he'll defend it against top fighters, all im saying is vazquez gets to choose his first two opponents before he has to make a mandatory defense against the top contender... besides what makes you think rigo deserves a title shot he's not even ranked in the top 15 of the WBO

Puertorricane: Didn't you hear the latest news?? They changed the wet feet/dry feet law. They added a special section for boxers. If they make it to dry land USA they will get citizenship, 5000 dollars, and a shot at at world tittle, just for being cuban!!!:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

He's not ranked I believe because he doesn't have 6 pro fights which will change shortly.
Perfect choice! The right level of opponent at the right time, hopefully it gets made. Any info on the when and where?
