Amagasa was stupid. Got all excited after the first knockdown, celebrating like Rigo was out cold giving him extra seconds to recover.
I went to bed 2hr before the fight because I was CONVINCED that it was happening the next day. Scoured the major boxing news outlets for weigh-in results/pre-fight hype, anything, found nothing, figured that that stuff would come out today and the fight would be tonight...
Rigs was up 6-0 at that point, and only had issues in one round. He had buckled and hurt Amagasa badly, and bumrushed him, Amagasa reached out and tapped Rigs flush with a right hand as Rigs came in. Rigs was buzzed, and grabbed for clinches a couple times. Then got on his horse and danced around clearing his head. That was the only spot I recall during the first six where Rigs had any trouble, and that was only like one or two punches. Rigs still won that round.
No, not badly hurt. He was hit flush on the button, caught straight up, (being lazy) fell on his butt. Got right back up. When action commenced, he went to clinch, as Amagasa flurried. A punch may have landed but Rigs was thrown down. It shouldn't have been ruled a knockdown. Round ended. Rigs fine to start the next round, was back in control.
Not really. Kind of reminded me of the Marroquin fight, where Rigs seemed disinterested at times. Except in this fight Rigs was brutalizing Amagasa's face, turning him into the pumpkin man.
I thought it was hilarious how Amagasa jumped up on the ropes like he had won by KO when he dropped Rigondeaux. lol.
Alright dude thanks for clarifying things but we've all seen the fight now! It was aired literally an hour after it took place on delayed coverage
