I can see how one would come away with that assessment by watching Rigondeaux in the pros alone. That is inaccurate though. The skills he displayed during his amateur career are simply unreal. His debut in the pros was SOOOO easy that he had no chance whatsoever to display his skills. He simply got away with throwing the same wild, looping power punch over and over. But that says more about his opponent than it does about him, as he was just simply doing all he needed to do to cruise to an easy, dominating victory. When the level of opposition increases, his natural abilities will show.
