Rigo was put on Manny Pacquiao undercards to showcase his talent. He was then given 2 headlining shows (Donaire and Agbeko). In the Agbeko fight, Rigo stunk out the joint so badly that people booed and started in leaving in droves after the third round.

Lomachenko has been on Manny Pacquiao undercards and now he's headlining.

So why is Rigo mad when he got the same exact treatment? It's not Arum's fault Rigo is unwatchable.

Reminds me of Ward complaining about GGG when Ward himself was HBO's darling at one point and had big sponsors like Nike.

Very good question. The answer is Rigo is salty as **** that Loma is attracting fans and viewers with his eye pleasing skills, while Rigo puts people (casuals/hardcores & boxing experts/columnists alike) too sleep with his boring ass style.

Rigondeaux would have been built up the same as Lomachenko if Rigondeaux was matched with all face first brawlers as well, while with Top Rank. Rigondeaux was matched fairly odd though.

After Donaire, Rigo was in position to become a star, instead, he decided to go 12 with boxers that he was capable of taking out in 1.

He had his chance and he blew it. Remember his promises to be more exciting in his next fight and then stunk out the place even more.

I don't care much about excitement, I'm more concerned with fighters getting the job done. Rigo and Loma, two A class, p4p technicians that get it done in different ways. I don't understand how you can hate either.

Sport is about excitement (for most people at least), and it's a major issue for promoters who need to see returns in their investments. I don't think anyone here is hating on either Loma or Rigo, but in this case Rigo is unreasonable not seeing that this is his own doing.

Sports are exciting because they're competitive, not because the athletes have to find ways to make it exciting. Boxing is the only sport where people complain about this.

No, even when not competitive boxing can be very exciting. Look at Tyson in his day and RJJ. And Lomachenko, Golovkin, Beterbiev now... Not competitive for years but very exciting non the less.

True for some. I find Golovkin exciting because he's more technical than he's given credit for. I love watching him time a fighter and break them down. Amazing at closing the show. Loma hasn't been in an exciting fight in a while for me, despite his amazing talent.

I get more excited for the match ups rather than the fighter. I just don't understand why guys get overlooked and judged poorly because they're "boring" despite being grade A talents. I feel like people are focusing on the wrong aspect of boxing. I find it narrow minded. No disrespect to anyone, just my opinion.

Still, the public has to buy it. Boxing, like many other sports are mostly about the casual paying fan. Not about the die hard ones.
In a sport like football a very good ultra defensive team can make a lot money non the less due to having a build in fanbase and winning tournament money, without the viewing audience liking what they see. In boxing you need to build up a fanbase first, and then attract the casuals as well by having that wow factor. Certainly when fighting in another country, where you can't bank on national pride for people to watch you either.

It's because the casual fans bring in money and not the hardcore fans.

That's just the way the game is and you have to accept these rules. If you want to be the A-side and dictate things you need to be exciting either inside or outside of the ring. Everyone who knows anything about boxing knows this and boxers get in the sport of pro boxing with that knowledge. It's stupid to complain about it when these are the basic rules of the game since day one. It's ridiculous when guys like Rigo suddenly act like they're shocked and surprised because they're not draws when they have the style that puts people to sleep.

Also, Rigo and plenty of Latin American boxers can't speak English yet expect to be some sort of stars in the USA? How hard it is to learn a language especially when you live in that country? Look at Loma improving his English, Kovalev learned it very quickly, GGG isn't that bad either.

Eastern Europeans know that you need to learn the language of the fanbase you box in front of and you need to come in the ring to KRUSH people.

Kovalev, GGG and Loma did everything they can to be draws in boxing in the USA. They didn't become the A-level draws yet but at least they're trying and they do have some fanbase in boxing community. Rigo didn't do **** and acts entitled.
