:rofl Rigon-****in-deaux just won a mega fight vs Donaire who was ranked like what #3 p4p? And they fought for scraps, old school. And that's saying a thousand times more than every boxer fighting right now, except maybe Andre Ward and Chad Dawson and Peterson, Matthysse.

On a tangent, Peterson v. Matthysse will be a mega fight. The only megafight at SMW was Dawson v. Ward. Only megafight at WW is Pac v. Floyd :-(. At superfeather Uchiyama v. Gamboa is pretty big, but not a mega fight. Gamboa will win easy, too bad Gamboa Lopez didn't happen :-(

Very nice. Watch Darch go for broke and spark him out or some wild **** :patsch

More likely will be a carbon copy of the Moreno bout though.

Great fight. Known name, home venue, and a style that can't be in a bad fight.

He showed with the young PR prospect that he can control himself and fight smarter, I fully expect that version of Darch to show up.. which will trouble Rigo... because unlike Donaire, Darch knows he has to go broke its his style and because of that it increases his chances.

Vic is gonna be walking into straight left hands all night gl with that. Rigo has way too much skill and most likely stops vic inside 8 rds.

interesting so you agree this is a cherry pick?

  8. Interesting fight, I like it.

Rigondeaux should be able to deal with Darchinyan in the world's most awesome last name championship. But Darchinyan should be able to give him a good test because of his style. Darchinyan may even be able to KO the Cuban if he catches him right. Wouldn't THAT shake things up?

No, I do not. At least you spelled "cherry pick" correctly this time. I realize that is a big step for someone like you. Darchinyan is a top ten jr. featherweight and a very good fighter. He isn't in Rigondeaux's league, but who is?

A good example of a cherry pick would be a guy fighting someone much smaller at a catchweight and then not living up to his contractual agreement, like Floyd-Marquez. You know, when Marquez was the lightweight champion and Floyd was the retired welterweight champion who had even fought at jr. middleweight. That is a good example of a cherry pick. And don't give me that **** about Marquez being #2 pound for pound. Floyd was picking on the much smaller man and didn't even make weight.

    This.

  14. Honestly... no. :-( You got me on that one.

And in my defense, my second sentence is my prediction on this fight, not Darchinyan getting the KO.

Rigo should be able to pick off anyone who throws so many hay-makers but Vic has a very unusual style. I'd say it has to be very difficult to prepare for him since his style is so unique.

I think there could be an ugly, uneventful few rounds while Rigo adjusts to what's in front of him before he finds a rhythm and starts landing. I think Rigo takes over after 4 rounds and dominates thereafter, possibly forcing a stoppage.

I've always thought an uppercut to the body could be particularly effective against Darchinyan and although Rigo prefers the more traditional hook downstairs, I wouldn't be surprised to see him notice there's an opening for that and start to punish Vic.

    Should be pretty interesting anyway.
