Rigondeaux's punching power... Overrated?

    Just a question

    When discussing the advantages of between the 2 fighters, there's a lot of mention of Rigo's power as if its close to if not equal to Donaire's... Or at least it something that Donaire, who's taken some good shots against strong punchers in his career, is going to have to worry about

    Where's the proof... NOTE: I'm not saying its wrong, I'm just asking for proof...

    It seems more to me his shots are just well timed, and he catches people coming it, oppose to actually having legitimate "Knock you out or hurt you" punching power

    But I could be wrong

    it's a tad overrated, but his timing, speed and accuracy is so good, that he puts people out

    Most of his knockouts are products of accurate body punching.

    His power is in fact underrated. I don't see anyone just walking through Rigondeux and his KO percentage proves it. He's got as much power as Donaire.

    Rigo hasn't knocked anyone out aside from random bums

    His best victory so far? over the hill, b-level Cordoba

    We shall see. I don't recall ever even seeing Donaire stunned in the ring.


    I think it'll end either going the whole way and Rigo taking a close decision, or Donaire knocking him out.

    Those of you saying it's equal to Donaire's here's a question would Donaire have been able to knock down Marroquin. Most likely yes and would stop him early and unlike Rigondeaux avoid getting hurt himself.

    Rigo knocked down Teon Kennedy 5 times but Kennedy wasn't hurt once- it was just because of Kenndey's sloppy footwork and balance

    It's not even remotely close to Donaire's

    If he goes to the body he leaves himself open for a counter left hook and we all know what will happen once the left hook connects.
