The skills that Rigo has, led him towards 2 Olympic Gold Medals. However, these same skills are preventing him from making money as a Pro...

Kinda sad to think about it...

It's his mentality, not skills, that are turning fans away. If he could tweak his mentality and throw a little more caution to the wind he'd have been a star. People love skills when they are used offensively, Rigondeaux however rarely let ththat ooffensive stuff show.

I think Rigo might have a weak chin that's why he is so cautious

It's one of the reasons, but also because he doesn't speak English, isn't good looking or charismatic and is in one of the midget divisions.

Rigo doesn't engage, he just pot shots.

Some say that by fighting like this Rigo will just keep winning - and legacy is all that matters, not money... But, if Rigo actually engaged more, thrown caution to the wind, he'd be more exciting, land bigger fights - and improve his legacy even further.
I don't think Rigo has anything to lose by engaging, unless he is scared of being hit, maybe Rigo is chinny. I think that is what he is worried about, being tagged.

What's preventing him from making money as a professional is a promoter that will spend some time trying to hype him up. In addition to that, Rigondeaux doesn't speak English to try and establish some hype whether negatively or positively.

Mayweather isn't an exciting fighter either to the average clueless fan yet he made it through first class management and regular trash talking.

Rigondaux is not chinny, he was tagged hard by donaire, a known big puncher, and what it did was get him mad and went after donaire, the problem is that adversaries run away once they get hit, is really hard to be exciting if you don't have a willing partner, so stop that nonsense about chinny and offense, he does get complacent when the guy became gunshy...

No, its only a blessing. How he utilizes it is not a curse. It's his choice. He gotta understand that he ain't an amateur anymore. He's got to take necessary steps to raise his stock if he wants to be a PPV star.

We hardcore fans may appreciate his skillset but the vast majority of boxing fans aren't. He's gotta cater to those people every now and then or at least until he becomes a PPV attraction.

Its a pain to see a guy as skilled as Rigo not getting the spotlight.
