I'm not a true boxing fan you idiot. I was become a fan when Pac and Donaire became popular. If there'll be no Filipino boxer in top 10 P4P ill follow this sport less and less. Unless GGG will tore thru his division. I love him as a fighter.

Arum is mad Rigo outclassed his new cash cow. I hope he gets out of his contract so he cant fight Mares or Santa Cruz on Showtime.

Showtime will pick him up. They are at war with HBO and will gladly take any of their boxers . Then put them in good fights and make HBO look stupid. Rigo will be on showtime in 2013

Meanwhile, Arum/HBO are continuing to push Zou Shiming onto the public so they can simply capitalize on possibly opening up the Chinese market . . .

I agree with everything except the highlighted part. Arum made Ali a very rich man. Don King is the one who promoted the Ali/Holmes debacle that you're probably referring to.

I'll say this, even if Rigo has just one fight remainging with Top Rank, he's going to have to go through hell to get Arum to stage that fight.

Juan Manuel Marquez was in the same position that Rigo is now with Arum nearly a decade ago.
Marquez wanted that last fight on his contract with Arum to take place so he could bail and sign elsewhere. Arum was putting up roadblocks.

The WBA had appointed Marquez super champion and had Chris John fight for the WBA title that really belonged to Marquez to begin with.

From what I remember, the WBA ordered Marquez face John or be stripped of WBA superchampion status.
With only one fight left on the contrace, Marquez could walk away from Arum after his next fight. Arum, Marquez' promoter at the time was'nt interested in making the fight unless Marquez signed an extension with him so Marquez could'nt walk away.

Because Arum as Marquez' promoter refused to stage and promote the fight, the WBA ordered that the fight go up for purse bids to the highest bidding promoter.
Only Chis John's promoter would touch it, and thats why the fight ended up going to Indonesia where Marquez got royally screwed.
John's promoter winning the purse bid could stage the fight anywhere he wished.
People often wonder why Marquez went to Indonesia in the first place to fight in Chis John's backyard.
The reason why he did it was because it was his easiest out to rid himself from Arum.

Marquez really had no choice but to go to Indonesia and take his chances.
Had he rejected going to Indonesia, Marquez would have gotten stripped of his WBA title, and to boot he still would have been under contract with Arum until he fought one more fight.
Had Marquez refused Indonesia and wanted to stage a fight elsewhere with a different opponent, Arum would have thrown road blocks to that as well.

Marquez easiest out was to fight Johh because it was WBA ordered and it would stand up in court if Arum wanted to sue Marquez for breach of contract.

So now you *******s and some of you other folks know why Marquez fought John in Indonesia.
Marquez really had no choice. Hopefully it wont be as hard for Rigo to rid himself of Arum as it was for Marquez. Arum certainly will put up all the stops to make it hard for Rigo to stage that last fight under contract.

This is a good read, and I hope it enlightens some of the people here who find it easy to support a guy like Arum.
