I think this is the best possible match for Rigo right now, realistically speaking Donaire ain't fighting Rigo because according to him Rigo's resume sucks major balls (which is true), there's also the problem that Rigo cant get any of the big names in GBP (Mares, Agbeko, Moreno etc) because of the GBP-Top Rank feud So the only option for Rigo left in order to make the mega-fight happen is to put pressure on Donaire by fighting Nonito's leftovers and beating them in more impressive fashion In that sense, Vazquez Jr is the best option for him. Yeah, Darchynian is a bigger name, but he's past it, and Rigo would have a hard time trying to one-up Nonito's devastating KO victory over Vic. Narvaez, Mathebula, those guys are terrible, they're still a good step up in competition but they wouldn't make much for Rigo money or legacy wise Vazquez on the other hand: - Gave Nonito his most difficult fight in years (reflected on a SD win and a completely shut eye for Donaire at the end of the match) - Is a decent draw with a solid PRican fanbase, Rigo would get a good payday and exposure by fighting him - Is still in his prime, and getting better with every fight - He's coming from an impressive KO victory over Oquendo An impressive victory over Vazquez by TKO or KO, something Donaire couldn't do, would rise Rigo's stock and put more pressure on Donaire to accept the fight. It'd be good business for Rigo too, and a big step up in competition.
After 2 loses, against Arce and Nonito, Vasquez jr camp decided to take things more easy.A fight against Rigo has been discussed previous to Arce.Instead they are seasoning junior to retake a belt whenever he's ready.But they don't think he's ready yet. ringondeux has one of the most horrific styles i'v seen, i know ppl badly want to see donnaire lose, but just imagine if ringodeux replaces him as the dominant champion, the promoters would have a hard time getting fans to watch his fights
