While Rigoneaux's shaky whiskers were well recognized before this fight by those in the know, it cannot be denied anymore that he is little more than a KO waiting to happen. The only questions are when and how.
I was not that impressed with rigo. he cannot take a punch very well. Donarie would kick his a$$ and I'll bet on it.
Damn I need to see this fight. Rigo went from Donaire-slayer to glass jawed fraud in no time. I figured he'd give Donaire a lot of trouble but I still had Donaire coming out on top, but I'll need to find a replay
Glass jawed, yet he didn't go down? If he was hurt he recouped in a couple seconds. Those were about the only punches Maroquine landed all fight.
Where did you get that from? I haven't even addressed Nishioka. Even if he does lose to Nish, does that mean he can never fight Rigo?
The surest bet you can make is that this thread gets made after Rigo gets wobbled last night. To be fair, Marroquin looked alot bigger and didn't look like any kind of termater can to me. He came to win. I was happy to see Rigondeux lose a little bit of his lustre. Makes it's much more likely we see him in good fights now he's known to be a mere mortal that can actually be hit and hurt. And then the way he battled back and dominated had to have earned him some more fans and up his marketability some, making him that much more attractive to opponents. Abner Mares, Nonito, Gamboa, Salido ,etc...any or all, I want to see Rigo get busy now. :bbb He may or may not be a glass jawed KO waiting to happen, but if he continues to improve the quality of his opposition, there will be some very exciting fights to see while we find out.
i'd still be rooting for rigo, i love his style but I would bet the house on donaire by ko, rigo has no chin unfortunately.
