Yes and your refusal to understand the simple fact that this is a categorically different situation from the typical expenses incurred by fighters is frightening. Golden Boy would receive $1 million for the event out of which they'd have to pay Mares and not get one cent more from the fight. Please do keep calling Rafael an illegitimate source. It makes all the more hilarious when you trust the words of people posting on ESB
Nor would they have to spend one penny more. Same offer they made to Pac through Floyd. And don't pretend it was Floyd's money on the line there. It was going to be bankrolled by GBP. Nonito is the champ here. Mares/Rigo are the challengers. If Mares doesn't have enough for his pocket after a doubling of his purse, that is HIS problem. What he gives to GBP doesn't make him worth one dime more to TR and HBO. Show me where Rafael points at the contract and disputes Arum's points. Please. I've offered this challenge so many times it is comical. Just because Oscar calls Danny Boy and tells him what he is allowed to believe don't mean **** to me. Did Dan defend Oscar's ***gotry too?
Kinda funny bball got an opinion that I THOUGHT changed his on this matter and now he is flopping the other way again? atsch
that demand of rigo is not arum's problem, what a stupid cuban *****. Take the fight glassdeaux and stop ducking! When donaire took his bait, he backed out because he know fully well that donaire would send him back to the amateurs!
If you want to keep accusing Mares of turning down a $1 million purse then don't whine when people accuse Donaire of turning down 3. They're either both purses or they're not But the reasonable expectation of all parties involved is that he would have to give something above and beyond what he normally give to Golden Boy for them to forgo any money they would make from the fight. You keep insisting that the contract sent to Top Rank does not constitute a real offer and there are no sources for this. Everyone including Rafael has written that it was in fact a real offer of $3 (three) million dollars read and received by Top Rank. If you want to turn around and say Arum had legitimate reasons for turning down the contract, that it's an entirely different point from saying it was not an actual contract or offer at all, one in which Donaire would receive a record-breaking 3 million dollar "purse."
Everyone on here and Rigo himself were crying and whining for Donaire to take the fight, now they are trying to make the fight and Rigo is being a total ***** right here :rofl
Give the fight to Vic he deserves it more. Vic said rigo has an egg shell for a chin at the news about fights :rofl
That is simply a ******ed statement. Not much else to say on that. Mares had a value to TR. Plain and simple. Last time. I'm make this real clear. Show me where Fat Dan specifically addresses the contract points and shows where Arum is wrong. You can't. He can't. GBP lawyers can't. You know why? IT WAS A BOGUS OFFER. Until you can debate the facts, please just stop repeating the same lame ****. The $3 mill was NOT REAL. Nobody that does the numbers on the fight believe it. Originally Posted by dempsey1234 It was legit, if you look at the $3m offered but a contract that has 13pgs is full of legal BS. A good manager/promoter looks @the big picture, it was a gboys grandstanding play, the 3m offered was the bait on the hook, the problem is that people who dont know the biz tend to focus on the numbers. Nonito is the draw or the "A" side not Mares, HBO has taken care of Nonito, they paid him 1m to fight an old, used up guy on his last legs in Arce. Mares I dont believe has made a million to fight anybody, used up or not. TR holds all the cards in this fight they have the the "A" side. Mares, while a good fighter has skills but no pop has never had a statement moment, like Donaire's ko of Montiel. Sure I agree it's a good fight, but really GB needs TR more than TR needs GB. The G's need to provide Mares with a meaningful fight and they can't, they make this grandstand play in the media to convince everybody they are legit and to be able to say, "ya see Mares( and the media)we made a fantastic offer, we are willing to do business with Arum but Arum wont come to the table, so you see we are trying real hard to make this fight happen", Arum has already told them straight out, TR has to be the lead promoter and he will make an offer to the G's. As you see in the contract the G's sent and put out, they are the lead promoter. If you like I will go over the contract point by poinnt and explain what each clause means. If you want to read something on the on-going war between the G's and TR, ck out Tom hauser article entitled "Why?" bball. You backing away from this now? What happened to asking him to do the point by point he offered to do?
So the contract that actually gets distributed is less real than the offer which has merely been discussed secondhand. Great. Not enough to ensure he would in fact be receiving his highest purse to date as you've constantly claimed. That value wasn't high enough to both get him paid such a purse and induce his promoter to give him up for the fight, the two components of the offer. Please show me how those points could not equally be made against the offer Top Rank made to Golden Boy. You can't because there is no released contract at all. On the specifics of Arum's points, the TV network and sponsor talk is utter bull****. The liability issue is more problematic in light of the purse but again, the existence of potential issues does not make it a non-offer. It further does not mean that negotiations had to effectively be closed at that point in time. Top Rank was the company that elected to end them, just as they did the first go-round for Pacquiao-Mayweather and just as they did for Cotto-Martinez.
Can Arum instead clarify the legal situation of rigondeaux ? Tell him, everything is ok, no more disputes and lets go ahead with fight. Instead he's pulling old shot Vic out of the sac... We know this is about money, probably saving a whole load of money with Vic.
If the shoe was on the other foot and Donaire was having legal issues you'd be saying Nonito is ducking Donaire because he fears Rigondeaux amazing gauntlet of amazing future hall of fame opponents that Rigondeauxs beat in sensational fashion in Cassey, Ramos. Keenedy and Marroquin following his stunning SD win over Cordoba. Kid Double Standards.
You said you were going to look at the 'contract/offer sheet'. You ever get around to looking at the pos?
