Who had the best 2007.... Floyd Mayweather : SD Oscar De La Hoya, TKO Hatton Miguel Cotto: UD Mosley, TKO Judah, TKO Urkal Joe Calzaghe: UD Kessler, TKO Manfredo, Jr. Kelly Pavlik: KO Zertuche, TKO Miranda, TKO Taylor J.M. Marquez:UD Barrera, UD Juarez As a Floyd fan it is easy to jump on and say he conquered '07 and certainly the buys and $ would back that, and certainly the big names are on the resume but when looking at 2007 as a whole and when looking for someone coming from left field and making a name for himself and establishing himself as a force in the sport....I am voting for Pavlik, with PBF a very close 2nd. I didn't think he would survive Miranda but he plowed right through him and JT.
Then the votes will show that....If you have someone you want to add I can always edit, but without suggesting anyone who would be better based on what you typed?
2 biggest PPV, FLoyd is in both. If last year we could consider Manny, this time his UD over Barrera was **** fight. Others are simply out of competition. Beside that Mayweather is going to compete with himself in following: fight of the year upset of the year ko of the year
I actually voted Cotto but now thinking about it it's obvious PBF deserves it. Winning the two biggest fights of the year really puts him above the rest..
I'm just saying that you should just have three fighters on the list. Mayweather, Cotto, and Pavlik all had a great year.
Floyd (Beat the bigger names) Pavlik (Had the better results) Cotto (Beat 4 good fighters in a year. Mosley is questionable though :yep )
I want Floyd to win but I think what Pavlik did this year was the most surprising, and perhaps the most impressive. Either way a hell of the year for the sport because of both of them.
I'm picking Floyd. I thought his win over Oscar was a decisive one, personally. In light of RING's new ownership, I'm sure we'll see ODLH as fighter of the year for losing a "questionable decision" to Floyd.
I'm a great fan of DLH, but is he an ATG ? If he had gotten the decisions over Trinidad and Mosley II he would certanly be.
