Cotto or PBF. Based strictly upon name recognition, you've got to give the edge to Mayweather, but, Cotto was perhaps more consistant this year in terms of performance (and certainly in terms of excitement). Still, PBF looked very impressive against an undefeated, Top 10 p4p fighter, and was involved in the biggest fight of the year, which he won. So, he just edges it over Cotto this year.
FLOYD and its not close...2 wins on the 2 biggest stages of this year...a KO over a top 8 p4p fighter to end the year..PBF no question
Pavlik should win The guy came outta nowhere, steemrolled through his opponents and became a unified middleweight champ in 1 year.
Pavlik hands down, KO'd two serious contenders including an Edison Miranda who everyone was avoiding and fearing. As well as winning the championship with a KO all in one year. How could anyone not vote for Kelly? Floyd's KO vs. Hatton was nowhere near as impressive as any of Pavlik's KO's this year, and his SD vs the cash cow de la hoya was boring as hell. I want my money back!
Floyds KO will live on for the rest of history as will Floyd..Kelly is not going to stay a champ or even at 160 for long. Floyd knocked the man head first into the damned turnbuckle....nobody is EVER going to forget this.
What makes you think Kelly is gonna get beat? I cant think of anyone who can stand up to his right hand.
I agree comletely though I'm not as big a Floyd fan as you. I'm glad I voted before I read your post so I wasn't influenced. I almost picked Floyd but @ the last second switched to Pav. Tough pick though, but Pavlik made his run as an underdog, and ultimately KO'd the man who beat Hopkins (who's still top 10 P4P and @ a higher weight!). Floyd and Cotto are both right up there though. When there are so many that actually deserve this award in most years, you know it's been a great year for the sport
