Ring announcements by non-Buffer

I personally don't care. A few times now ive seen Jimmy Lennin jr in the crowd and he seems really into the fight. So for that I like him.

They should have a search for the next ring announcer tv show or something. Winner gets a ****ing easy job that pays well and is seen by millions worldwide weekly.

Buffer is king no doubt. Once he's gone, Lennon will take over. Although i have to admit Lennon is good, probably second to Buffer, i kinda dislike his voice.

 

If the guy on the Contender wouldn't shout so loud, would tone it down a bit and tidy his vestments and appearance up a bit, he would be perfect...I don't like Contreras...he is too faded; not enough character; his voice is not baritone enough...he won't last.

 

I like it. **** that's the big thing these days anyway, reality TV. Put on a contest and let us judge (like the others by text or phone, etc.) who the next Man will be.

 

Buffer is a right poof. I much prefer Jimmy Lennon. At least he doesn't look like a couiffered nancy boy

"nice to see you to see you......................... nice" and the crowd could do the final call back with the nice.

He is...he made a big mistake when he was announcing the winner of JC-MK...it spoiled the moment.

 

I would try out for that show in a heartbeat. I think being a ring announcer is about the coolest, easiest job ever. I mean you get to watch fights for free ringside AND introduce the fighters.

 

I went to a fight one time in Halifax and the announcer opend with.

"Ladie and Gentleman,LETS Get READYYYYY To have A REALLLYYYY GOoD FIGHT"

Buffer is the best then Lennon and the guy on the Contender wasn't half bad either.

 

In the old days, Buffer himself used to say the Man Your Battle Stations thing. He was not a refined product at that point.

It wasn't until the early 90s, and especially the mid-90s, when he hit his prime. And then he started to fade in the late 90s, although he has gained in experience and polish what he has lost in voice. The past couple years, though, I can really hear a difference.

I've tried to upload a DVD of a Roy Jones fight to Youtube but can't get it to work. It's the intros for Jones vs. Tony Thornton. That was Buffer at his best.

I actually like the dreadlock guy's voice second-best. Lennon is too nasally, and Contreres lacks character in his voice. But I suspect that he may get the HBO job after Buffer. We'll see.
