This might be old but the magazine just hit UK shelves today. They list 10 guys who would have kicked Mayweathers butt. I’m not convinced by all of them. Seems to be a little hate going on.

So guys, bear with me while I get the multiple choice poll up and tell me which choices you agree on. Who would have kicked Mayweather’s butt??

I read the article in the magazine, great read. I can see all of them doing it to be honest

Saddler, Whitaker, Duran, Prime DLH, SRL, SRR, Arguello, Pryor, Armstrong, Hearns. Hard to argue with those.

He has a 50/50 chance against prime DLH and I think a 60/40 against Pryor but the rest would be fav against him IMO. Against some like SRR, Hearns, Leonard, Armstrong he just wouldn´t stand a chance.

The author was kinda bashing Mayweather's persona but it wasn't overboard, just highlighting why he has haters and how people want to see him decisively beat down. He was respecting his skills. Also the reasons given for those guys winning are legitimate, the breaking down of each fight is technical and often compares them to a lesser fighter that had some success until they failed in one area in which these greats wouldn't.

Take Hearns out and I agree with that list. Not saying Floyd would beat Hearns, but he has a chance.

    The Arguello reasonnig was:

’Floyd would box to a lead in the Championship rounds and then Arguello would find his opening. A bodyshot would freeze Mayweather and a right to the jaw would render him unconscious’ :huh

It says a whole lot more than that. It says he was a technical fighter who threw short accurate punches with a versatile skillset and was great at finding openings & weaknesses for hard shots which landed with power. An adjustment leading to a KO from behind due to an accurate and well-designed combination doesn't seem like a disrespectful opinion to me.

To be fair, they're some of the best fighters in history. It shows the kind of company Floyd thinks he's in.

Fair enough, but it was still a highly presumptious way to predict the fight. Would those openings be found on a Floyd or Whitaker style fighter?

Guess we’ll never know, which makes it more interesting...
