IT WAS FLIMED! That was the bet. Fake or not were not part of any terms. I showed you this point blank, whether or not you can see it or not today is not part of the bet.

    Once again:

    The fight was NOT FILMED.

You are an absolute disgrace as a man , no dignity, no honour ,no principles, and no shame!

    A complete waste of oxygen.

Jeffries would definitely KO Louis, and I think Fitz would too.

Ballyhoo artist from the era of semi-legal boxing claims that every present-day fighter loses to every fighter from his own era.

Especially that one guy America likes better than him.

    Movie at 11.

...Which is not to diminish the historical value of locating and publishing the source itself.

Ever known an old champ who didn't favour his contemporaries over the current boys?
    "Back in my day,"
He may be right about Langford beating Louis though.

Didn't Tyson avoid the trend? I seem to recall Tyson saying that Klitschko and even Wilder would have done well in his own era. In Johnson's own day, Sullivan was also pretty gracious about Jeffries, if I remember a previous thread in Classic correctly. I'm sure there are others.

I agree that many ex-champs can be disparaging of current fighters, but Johnson's condemnation is pretty...thorough...even by ex-champ standards.

I think what a fighter says about other eras often says more about them than anything else.

And there was that recently excavated thread where somebody said Dempsey spoke equally well of Jeffries.

(Jeffries's own comment about Johnson -- that he couldn't have beaten him even in his prime -- also fits here, ironically.)

I've seen Dempsey speak pretty highly of Louis, at least at times.

Which of the two comments do you believe represents his considered stance on the subject?
