That's right, i said it. The RING magazine "championship" means nothing
anymore. JMM sat on it for 3 years as the 135 holder without fighting
a single fight at 135. Sergio has held it hostage since he lifted from a
drunk drained pavlik and refuses to defend it, and somehow Danny Garcia
is crowned champ at 140 off of a win over a 100 yr old Morales and a
guy 135lb breidis prescott KO'd in 3 seconds. yoan hernandez, RING champ
at cruiser? Why? He's clearly better and has done more than Lebedev,
Huck, or Diablo? how so? This RING belt is now as worthless as the paper
titles and is disregarded from now on in my eyes, and should be in any
    REAL boxing fan

I agree with the premise of the argument, but your examples are just horrible and flat out wrong.

Thought so. Well, at least they have a casual fan like you fooled.
That's why they can do this **** because you'll stand for it as will
    most boxing "fans"

Well, your first two statements are utter ******.

-JMM sat on it for 3 years?

Won it in Sep. 2008. Defended it 5 months later. Defended it again less than 1 1/2 years later again. Then again 4 months later. In your 3 year span of sitting on it and "without fighting a single fight at 135," he actually defended it 3 times.

    -Sergio refuses to defend it?

A lineal title is defended every time you make weight. He's made weight five separate times, thus defending it five times since Pavlik.

-You're right about Garcia. I don't recognize him as the lineal champ because of Matthysse being the rightful #1 entering Garcia/Khan.

But Morales wasn't a factor in the equation and the Prescott KO happened at a lower weight and thus, doesn't factor into Khan's rankings at 140.

-I don't recognize YPH either. Because Huck was inexplicably omitted from their rankings after one fight at HW, with the intent to return to CW, and having fought at CW well within the one year allotted to keep your ranking.

But yes, entering Cunningham II which the title was put on the line from vacancy, he was among one of the best 3 CW's with Cunningham and Huck. Lebedev and Diablo don't matter in that. Huck does.

    ---

Do you agree or disagree? Because, these are facts and/or the vast consensus of fans/media.

    Dude.

    **** off *****.

I said I agree with the premise of your argument. You must not understand that.

I don't recognize "the Ring title" as the "the lineal title." Each individual person, you, I, and Bill Clinton, each choose to recognize who we deem worthy as the lineal champ.

I don't recognize Mikey Garcia, Danny Garcia, or YPH, all three of which the Ring does. I do recognize the other Ring champs also as my true lineal champions.

I still give them a little more credit since they're allowed to only pick one champ fromt he weight class instead of any of the 4

Ring does not enforce Mandatory defenses so how does it have more cred? once a fighter picks up that Ring title he can dump the rest and pick and choose who he wants to fight with out the threat of being stripped what kind of cred is that?

    Disagree.

The ABC belts choose who mandatories are based on how much money those fighters have thrown to them to make their way up the rankings. THAT my friend, is 0 credibility.

I bet most would agree with us and suggest ring has zero credit if Bob Arum owned Ring.... Just saying, how can you even consider Ring when its owned by Delahoya?

    same here :-(

why they had the old editorship (who where there before gbp) it could be defended but when they fired them and moved the office to gbp it couldn't be.The magazine and site seem to have got worse there are alot of easy spelling mistakes and the articles are pretty bland also the lag has got worse for example the march issue will be covering the result of the pac/jmm 4 fight
the rankings are now done by that turd chuck giampa mainly :dead

There isn't a current Ring Magazine Champion who isn't the consensus number 1 in that division. The Ring title still stands.
