Lot worse fights out there for both men, I have no problem with this fight from eather fighter, although after this, if Berto wins, he needs to face someone like Cintron. But Ortiz vs Berto? Ill be tuning in.

I actually think Ortiz can win. I believe he can box slickly and avoid punches. If Berto hits Ortiz, then Ortiz will probably cry and start running. Good matchup IMO. Hopefully Vic wins

Well, I think Berto wins this one. I know I'm a Berto detractor ordinarily and I could slam him about the weight, but Ortiz really does have a welterweight body. Look how heavy he was for his last fight. He may even have a better chin at welter. It wouldn't be a bad match...if...he didn't have that mandatory...and if it weren't for him still never facing anyone you could make a good case for as a top four welterweight...But, oh well.

This isn't too bad a fight, although it would've been better to let Ortiz build up his rep at WW first.

...Did Vic find his own nutsack under a pillow or something? Because if so, that's fantastic and I'm very, very happy for him. I hope he can readjust to having that part of his game back by the time of the Berto fight.

Victor Ortiz isn't a 140 fighter anymore. The guy hasn't made 140 in 4 of his last 5 fights. He's waiting to move up to 147 and this is a good move for Ortiz to move up to 147. Also, good move for GBP it seems as though they aren't going to hold Ortiz' hand anymore, he is going to have to go out and prove that he is a quality fighter again. I think the decision he didn't get with Peterson and him (may'be) fighting Berto proves this.

Yeah they could have built this as a semi big fight @ 147, but that would mean Berto fighting more bums so might as well make them fight
