When I was living in South Korea, I attended a K1 final 16 event, and one thing i noticed is that in the K1, they have digital clocks on the floor in the corners of the ring, counting down how long is left in each round... I thought this was a pretty good idea, as u notice a lot in boxing guys will look up to the video screens etc to get a glimpse of how long is left in the round, What are peoples thoughts on bringing the same thing into boxing?
..but nah...that is a good an idea as it is a obvious one...another classic way in which boxing is draggin' the chain compared to MMA..
Yes and no mate. The worst part UFC bouts is when they run down the clock. Two fighters leaning on the octagon fence peering away at the clock isn't a great spectacle.
Yeah true, it can be a distraction to the fighters and lets them take a breather when it suits them knowing how long is left
...I'm hearin' ya...to be honest I haven't really thought it out but just posted my immeadiate reaction.. ..I can see some merit in it though..:good
Pro boxers should know how long is 3 minutes. I don't even like 10 sec wood bang bang, which only serves to alert sleeping ref
Mixed feelings to be honest. I think the 10 second 'tap' is a good thing. Perhaps it ought to be a 30 second tap instead so as the fighters have longer to react and finish the round out strongly?
Seen too many fighters, who were ahead on points, get done in final seconds of a round because they accelerated leaving themselves wide open.
