biggest fight of his life, and he wanted the easy way out of a stinging feeling!.

2 rounds left in a close fight,he couldnt carry on!,no warrior, never be a true champion now.

hell, fraizer fought half blind most the time and fully blind for ali 3 for the end of that fight.

The doctor stopped the fight. He wouldn't put his license at risk. Frazier has nothing to do with it.

But he was able to blink a few times if i remember correctly. Wouldn't that have dispelled the docs concerns? And also, if after waiting a few mins and getting the sweat out of his eye/cut there was no improvement, then call it. I am sure I am oversimplifying this, but could waiting have affected his call? Or endangered the fighter or not?

Not blaming the doc at all......he gave Alexander every opportunity to comply, and to plead his case if he wanted to. I don't think the doc wanted to call the fight.

can't say for sure...Alexander wasn't blinking normally, holding his lid up, etc. and the pain complaint was serious. The doctor decided to cover his own ass in that situation by stopping the fight.

He misdiagnosed that by a mile... he should have been immediately concerned that his balls were paralyzed.

Devon has never been in a situation like that, afaik. He was trying to regain his vision, as the doc was asking what was wrong. People criticize his reaction (which seemed a bit dramatic, but, appeared genuine), but, that is not the time to lie and tell the doctor, nothing is wrong. He spoke up, and the doctor made the call. It's not like Margarito's situation, where it was up to the corner to stop the fight. So, I don't even understand these comparisons people are making. Devon already had a huge gash in his right eyelid, and fought with it, from round 1 or 2. The stoppage was legitimate. Your eyes are nothing to play with. Sometimes, it's best to live to fight another day.

Why did Devon never say something like "i want to continue" or "don't stop the fight" or "just give a minute"???

He had no problem with the fight being stopped, never protested it. He quit plain and simple. But the excuses will start rolling out...Where's Dirrel when you need him?

I'm just glad Bradley won his title back that they stripped from him for wanting to fight what he thought was a tougher test.

you know when the cut happened in cotto vs clottey it was before the 4th so if cotto had said he couldn't continue it would have been an NC.

    but he didn't.
