Why don't the governing bodies including Ring exclude this guy from their ratings, anyway he already declared his retirement. :hey

And why would he become no. 1 when he beat Guzman.Who did Guzman beat that deserves such lofty status? WBO title is just garbage.

Who do you think should be at the apex of the P4P then? I do not think there is one fighter who had fought all the toughest oppositions possible out there and winning it convincingly.

WBO is just garbage    . . . that's just according to you. :yep

But you see dude . . . garbage or not, it counts. . . no matter how you deny it or how you hate it . . . Guzman will go down in the boxing history book as a world title holder and that's what matter . . . not your lame opinion . . . so you have to live by it. :yep

Soto is a contender, Guzman is a title holder . . . that's the difference. :deal

Why dont we include the IBO, and all the other alphabet boxing bodies mushrooming every once in a while. All of them I am sure have belt holders. In terms of opposition, For a contender, soto fought more credible opponents by lightyears in terms of comparison. How about davis for a title defense? He could not even qualify as a sparring partner. If you look closely at Guzman's record, since he won the WBO title, how many times did he defend his title (Average of less than 2 per year).? And against who? Not one of his ooponents is worth mentioning. Oh I forgot Barrios!!!!!!Dada!! His last fight was in January. And when will he fight again? Next year when he is 33 years old and Pacquaio hopefully considers him? Forget about Katsidis. It was just a hype job to make him appear busy doing something. At the onset, I smelled something fishy with that bout and predicted it not pushing through. A powder fisted fighter challenging a real 135 pounder?

Guzman is a title holder no doubt. But if MP defeats him, it would not make him number1. It only proved how hyped Guzman really is. Afterall, titles are dime a dozen nowadays and should be taken in the context of the quality of opposition, the domination factor, etc. The record of the fighter should speakfor itself. Because if MP becomes number1 by virtue of defeating Guzman, then I think it is time for me to quit reading this forum.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion however lame you think it is. As to whether you agree with it, it is up to you. Afterall, that is the purpose of a forum. If you appreciate a fighter, that by itself is an opinion. If you remain neutral or do not favor anyone, it is still an opinion. And if I see Guzman as a hype job until he fights someone credible, that is my opinion.

I believe Manny could become number one in the future by beating Marquez in split decision, goes up to give David diaz a beating, then DLH at welterweight, Ricky Hatton by KO in 2 rounds, and miguel Cotto, taking away his welterweight belt by TKO. He will also do all this feat and become champ in seven division. He will become undisputed p4p number one and nt even Mayweather could do anything about it. I know i'm a ******* and you'd say i don't know boxing, but all this will happen in the future, i'll have a lifetime bet with anyone that disagrees lol.
