Ring Generalship - what does it mean to you guys?

    It is whoever is actually dictating the fight. You can do this off the backfoot as well. It's all about positioning, controlling the action even by putting lull in the action. Just whoever is in control of the fight. I can make you do what I want you to do. We fight on my terms. It plays in to effective aggression. Ring generalship doesn't actually mean anything if you can't turn it into being effective at all.

    Pressurring
    Setting up counters
    Positioning
    Negating your opponent's offense

    All ring generalship. Again though it is actually the least important part of the criteria. Clean effective punches > everything. Ring generalship SHOULD lead to this though. Very hard to get that done without controlling the fight in some way assuming both fighters know what they're doing in the ring.

    This isn't really true. I think to really gauge it properly though you do need some form of combat experience. Some guys think that it is just coming forward for some reason when a bit more goes into it. It is kind of negligible in itself though since RG SHOULD lead to more important things in the first place.
