Remember being in the hall of fame doesn't automatically mean how good a fighter was in his career there also other factors involved, like your role in the sport itself and how you represented or helped it? Hatton has to get alot of credit for that.

Yeah, the price is a alot... but you can alway get it deliverd for much cheaper.... or just do what I do alot of the time, which is go to WH Smith and go through all the magazines in the store without paying for one.:good.... although I don't do this all the time as I like to collect the magazines for the future.

Shouldn't in a million years, popularity has nothing to do with being a great boxer. Outside of that he has one win that would be worthy of catapulting him into this echelon, which just isn't enough. The rest of his wins are 'decent world champion' wins, not HOF wins. And well, he came up dreadfully short against the best. Not even really competitive which is a big problem for a potential HOF'er.

But those guys over at the Hall seem to have some different standards.

No. He most definitely will now, though.

I think he was a cert to get in even before he died.

By their standards no doubt. It doesn't particularly bother me as long as they are consistent. They've pretty much devalued it by including people based on non-achievement related criteria, but oh well. It's not exactly a huge big deal, it doesn't affect anything.

As I have said on numerous other threads, Witter was the classic "bit of mud" for the haters to throw at him (leaving aside the fact that this is rather unconvincing of someone who fought Tszyu, Castillo, Mayweather and Pac). If it wasn't him, it would have been someone else. As soon as Witter lost his belt, the unproven novice who beat him inherited that status with relation to Hatton.

One thing I'd like to say ist hat these days everyone seems to use the argument "If Mcguigan got in then so should so and so" to support the HOF inclusion of a fighter. Mcguigan should be the exception not the rule.

I agree with TFFP, I think Gatti will now get in, not sure if he really deserves to though.

I agree, the fighter has still has the same career whether he makes it into the HOF or not. Its an American thing really, they love that sort of stuff.
