As for the thread. I think we should wait by the end of the year before deciding who's the best of the decade. Anything can still happen in the remaining months ahead.

Good list. Mostly agree, though Griffith surely has a shout of being above Ortiz for the 60s.

The decade isn't even over yet lol. If Pac gets this dubious award without having fought Mayweather this decade, Ring Mag will have embarrassed itself by giving PAc this award lol.

    Good list.

i would have Hopkins as a runner up instead of Mayweather.

I think he has the title of fighter of the decade but by a slim margin

all Pacquiao has to do is not lose within the next 7 months and he has it locked no matter the outcome of floyd/jmm

Hard to argue with anything on the list but the 2000s have still to be decided.

That list is gonna look pretty silly if Floyd beats both Marquez & Pacman in a decisive manner before the end of the decade.
They should have ????? next to the 2000s list IMO... for the time being.

Boxing always has Alzheimer's when it comes to making a best of...

Why ? because his name was 1 of 20 mentioned ? (well, Robinson won the 40s & 50s so make that 19 names)... what happens if there were a few decades with multiple ATG fighters, its just that they never got voted winner or runner-up in that decade.

For example, Joe Louis didnt win or get even runner-up in any decade but he still might be better than lets say the 90s winner (just an example)

That formula doesnt work 100%... Im not saying Manny isnt top 20 but you cant use the formula that you used to say that he is.

They are covering their ass so that they can still try give Pac FOTD even if he loses to Floyd... mark my words.

The late rds are where Floyd will be stronger than Manny having landed the cleaner punches throughout.
Pacquiao will need a gun to KO Mayweather, this prediction of yours is very unlikely.

No it doesnt, that means you would have 11 yrs instead of 10 yrs because the whole of 2000 is included as the 1st yr, 2001 the 2nd yr & so on.

Actually a century starts with the years 1, 101, 201, etc. and end with zeroes eg. 100, 200, 300, etc., so with the decades. The first century started with year 1 not year 0.

Fighting Floyd is a bad idea for Manny. He's giving ALL the advantages away to Floyd.

Floyd plays an unfair game. He's lately been fighting smaller fighters where he has the advantage in SIZE AND BOXING SKILLS. Surely if he's that sure he is the best he should fight people his own size and where his only advantage is his skills.

Fighting people like Cotto, Margarito and Mosely will leave him with no size advantage - Then we'll see how good he really is.

Who cares about which decades ends in when?

Bottomline, after Pac is done, he is an ATG period.
