have the ring magazine any say in who fights their champions for the ring title... ie...if ring magazine title holder joe calzaghe wanted to fight unknown john smith tomorrow...can ring magazine stop the fight from being for the 'ring magazine title' ??...
If the ring champion loses a fight regardless of who his opponent is then he loses the belt to that opponent.
The fight was above the weight limit which meant that the title wasnt on the line. It would be no different if Calzaghe were to lose to Jones...He would lose on the lt heavyweight title and still have the supermiddleweight title... And to answer the lead question...No RING has no say in who there champs fight. In fact its the flaw with the title, because a fighter cant lose that belt outside of the ring..So in essences one could win the RING title then fight a legion of bums and bartenders and RING would be helpless to do anything about it.
wasnt the ring title on the line for b-hop winky at 170?even tho its the 175 title? was it up for pav taylor 2 at 166?i cant remember
