    Let me enumerate....

Pacquiao: dela Hoya, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito.
Floyd : Zab Judah, Baldomir, Mosely (lightweight Marquez does not count)

Pac has more than Floyd actually

Yeah that's what I was kind of getting at in the second sentence. Pacquiao was effectively a 147lber moving up for a catchweight bout...the win should and did move him up to #1 in the WW rankings, but it would not affect the Champion at the weight.

Mayweather was considered the top WW. Mayweather then fought DLH and retired. Cotto defeated Mosley making him the top WW in most peoples eyes. Margo defeated Cotto making him the top WW in most peoples eyes. Mosley defeated Margo making him the top WW in most peoples eyes.

When Pac fought Cotto, Margo was considerd the top WW. When Pac fought Clottey, Mosley was considered the top WW. Now unless Mayweather is retired he should be ranked to top WW. Pac has beat top 5 ranked WWs, but he hasn't fought the top ranked WW to become the top WW.

Neither De La Hoya or Marquez bouts should be credited as WW wins.

LOL talk about double standards. So fighting Margarito at 150 catch weight is added to Pac's WW list. But Mayweather fighting DLH at 154 isn't added? Or Hatton who he fought at WW?

:deal (with one minor correction, Mosley had beaten Margo and was top WW when Pac fought Cotto)

Mayweather was the champ and then retired.

Cotto beat Quintana, Judah and then Mosley. At worst, Cotto vs Margo should have been for the ring title.

The only other relevant guy was Williams and he lost to Quintana before the Cotto-Margo fight.

There really is no debating this, PHILLA

the title is vacant since floyd retired first time, Mosley and Margo were NO 1 CHALLENGERS for the ring never the champ, unification is needed to clear things this has always been the way

scoop up enough ABC belts and the ring title appears eventually:good

This isn't really that hard to understand. Mayweather beat Judah and Baldomir. Judah was the lineal champion "AT THE TIME" before losing to Baldomir. Floyd beat Baldomir and Judah therefore he was the lineal champion. Get it, got it, good. Floyd retires.

Cotto becomes the top dog(but not lineal champ) after he beats Mosley and Judah. Margarito crushes Cotto, he becomes the top dog(not lineal champ). Mosley whoops Margarito, he becomes top dog(not lineal champ). Floyd schools Mosley without fighting for the title, he becomes top dog(not lineal champ).

Manny has faced some good competition but hasn't yet to face the current top welterweight at any time. YOU CAN THANK BOB ARUM'S MATCHMAKING FOR THAT.

But Floyd loses his #1 seat simply because of no activity compared to Manny. Simply put, Manny beats Floyd, he most likely becomes lineal champ.

At the end of the day, vacation or not, until he says he is officially done, Floyd's name will remain in the top rankings. That is the way it is whether your happy about it or not.

The Margarito and Cotto fights were *not* @ the WW limit of 147lbs. Technically, Pacquiao has only had two fights @ welter, Clottey and ODLH...

Margo was not ranked top 2 when he fought Cotto nor even top 3.

I think what we have here is another case of *****s using Flogic to award Mosley a lineal title that he never earned in order to make Floyd's accomplishments look better than they are.

Good post. Too bad the TS and other trolls have disappeared now that they have been exposed for not understanding anything.
