you can't debate margo not being a WW fight because it's 150. that's not the issue. Manny has fought Cotto at WW, which you tried to exclude simply because it wasn't at the full 147. The FACT IS that it was within the welterweight division, above 140 and not exceeding 147 as you so pointed out. You can cry about it not being at the full limit if you must, but it was a welterweight fight.

Pacquiao only has three fights at WW. Clottey, De La Hoya, and Cotto.
Floyd has Mitchell, Marquez, Hatton, Judah, Mosley, and Baldomir.
(The reason Marquez counts and Margarito doesn't is because Marquez was still at the 147 pound limit and agreed as a WW fight, whereas Margarito was for a 154 pound title. You can't call your fight a WW fight if you're fighting for a LMW title. You don't have to count Marquez or Mitchell as significant wins, but Baldomir was the lineal champ at the time. Regardless of how good he was, he was "the man" when Floyd beat him.)

Still; Floyd retired, the title became vacant. According to The Ring, nobody has done enough to earn the title. Manny's only real significant win was against Cotto, who was coming off a loss. Not for the Ring title. Floyd's most significant win in his comeback is Mosley, coming off a win, but still not for the Ring title. They are #1 and #2. If they fight each other, it will almost certainly be for the Ring title.

Not to nitpick but Cotto came off 2 wins when Pacquiao fought him. Good points though and I'm positive the Ring will hold off on crowning another Welterweight Champion until they know for sure that Mayweather won't be fighting Pacquiao.

Manny wins a 154lb title against Margarito at 150 and they count it as a 147 victory.

    LMAO...

Also Pacquiao defeated Cotto who defeated Mosley.

But the last person who beat the man is Floyd. Cotto lost to Margarito who lost to Mosley whom Floyd just beat recently. But now, "The Man" doesn't have the urge to fight the "The Midget"?

Why did the thread even go past this? Must be that way of thinking I've discovered they go by where even if you're wrong you keep arguing because somehow if you admit the other person is right you're running away from the topic...

Perhaps you should learn how to read.

The facts are clear, the Cotto fight was *not* contested @ the WW limit of 147lbs.

What is so hard to comprehend about this simple FACT?
