1st off, Having Ratings period is a matter of opinion.....
2nd instead of asking that stupid question at the end of your post, how about you answer me this one.

Why do people seem to get amnesia and believe what they want to when its convient for them?

The fact is that MOST people considered Margarito the man after he broke Cotto WITH the only thing disputing that being his defeat to Williams. Margarito at that time was this tall, scary, steel faced, unlimited punching guy who made Cotto his ***** and had just had his first "real" taste in the big time. And he was finally supposed to get the fights he wanted since he was in a position to negotiate, instead of being the scary guy that everybody ducks, he was supposed to be the scary guy everybody had to fight.

This. They have rules and they don't have to bend the rules to make an exception for Pac's case. If they do bend the rules, that's when the Ring rankings lose their credibility and start acting like the rest of the corrupt sanctioning bodies.

I think that's what I said. You were the one who labelled your opinion 'FACT'.

Most people where? On the rings ratings panel? Well, we factually know that to be untrue. In the world? How would you know? On this forum? Perhaps you could link to a thread at the time that shows this. Or perhaps your post inadvertently hints at a truth when you say people thought that after Margarito v Cotto. The way I remember it, a lot more people started deciding a while down the line that Cotto v Margarito should have created a linear champion than were advocating such on the eve of the fight. When it became convenient for their personal agendas they adopted that stance.

Of course they do not recognize him as the champ. There hasn't been a #1 vs. #2 matchup, or #3 matchup, to fill the vacancy.
