Wondering why the Ring has biased ratings? They are owned by Golden Boy Enterprises.... http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/columns/story?id=3019164 http://www.eastsideboxing.com/weblog/news.php?p=12390&more=1Sep http://articles.philly.com/2007-09-13/business/25222169_1_boxing-titles-magazine-boxing-person I actually give them a little bit of credit for only sticking Canelo and Broner at the bottom...
Max Kellerman hyped the Ring, but now its owned by De La Hoya, so its going to favor that direction... Also saying the various alternatives are better than WBC, WBA, IBF & WBO is untrue...it showed in recenT incidents...where opinions, moods and favoritism seemed to dominate The big 4 WBC, WBA, IBF & WBO are definitely influenced by promoters directly or indirectly, usually meaning fighters with $ potential move faster...This is not that bad of an approach, because the public will not pay for overrated fighters...not perfect, but it works :good
Ring magazine isn't even a proper belt its a joke, they continue to pick black yank fighters to put at the top like adrien broner who is shite!
The fact that they had Broner at #6 a while age turn the Ring into a joke magazine. Of course they will put guys like Canelo & Broner up there. They're promoted by Golden Boy. Neither of them belong within the sniffing distance of the top 10.
