the new ratings will come out tomorrow and i'm wondering if dawson will be listed as the new champ. i can understand if they want to wait for an official decision but the problem is that hopkins is a golden boy fighter (golden boy owns ring mag) and i don't recall this ever being done before. the ring title is the most prestigious in an era of crap organizations but the way they handle this situation could have an effect on the legitimacy of the belt. thoughts?

Supposedly they have already asked for the address to send the title to as far as giving it to Dawson. Shaw said they contacted him about it but who knows when it comes to that pig.

Dawson will be called the champ until the decision is overturned. They have to go by the official ruling for now.

hmm seems strange cant they postpone it, if turns into a nc (which is very likely I think) then hopkins remains champ.

Desn't matter ... Erdei is still the man, Ring title is as crappy as the other belts at 175lb.

More fighters are going to try and perform takedowns that can injure their opponent now in my opinion.

They'll probably go with official decision unless it's overturned

Looks like they're not changing their rankings: http://ringtv.craveonline.com/blog/...vweight-belt-wont-change-hands-pending-appeal

I realize this will probably lead to many cries of corruption and illegitimacy due to the Golden Boy ownership, but honestly this decision seems like it's bound to be overturned anyway. It really doesn't matter which way they ruled now given the fact that they'll ultimately abide by the results of the appeal and review process.

They sent a letter to Hopkins apparently, but he got a paper cut.

this writer makes a good point

More recently, Jeff Franklin was declared winner by TKO over Gabriel Ruelas in unsatisfactory circumstances in Las Vegas in 1990. Ruelas was dominating the fight but he suffered a broken right elbow and the bout was stopped in the seventh round. Ruelas’s trainer,

Well, with ODLH at the top, who really expected that the Ring rankings would remain unbiased?

I notice that they have Mares over Agbeko and Darchinyan too.
