Pacquiao beat the guy who beat Mosley in his 2nd to last fight @ WW, and then beat another guy who gave that guy a better fight than Mosley. Mosley lost to Cotto then beat a cheater who for the first time wasn't allowed to cheat.
Jr Welter is irrelevent Cotto was a great win Clottey was run of the mill Shane had a fight scheduled that was cancelled upder tragic circumstances and is fighting arguably the best fighter in the world. He also treated Margarito like a *****! HE'S NO. 1.
One fight at Welterweight and one at Pacweight doesn't count. Mosley is top dog at Welter, no question. Ring mags proclamation is total B$.
i agree the first time when they rated pac as the #1 welter after beating cotto but since then pac has beaten clottey while mosley's fight has been canceled thus pac being #1 at welter has a merit now. don't worry, there's still no champion. mosley could get the #1 welterweight rank again if he beats floyd and hopefully a fight with pac for the real welterweight champion.
These guys are more concerned with P4P rankings anyway. Even if Mosley is number 1 WW, he is still after May and Pac P4P and that's what matters
Mosley should be number one right now but dont worry after he gets done with crackhead Jr there will be no doubts who's number one.
It's all debatable but I don't see anything wrong with having Pac up there. At WW, Mosley's last 3 fights are wins against Collazo and Margarito, and a loss against Cotto. Both good wins but the Collazo fight was more than 3 years ago and he beat Margarito minutes after he was caught cheating. He definitely didn't beat the same Margarito that fought Cotto.
Even worse than that is having Fraud at number three for beating a lightweight,bible of boxing my ass.
