Bla bla bla. The UFC is the main company and while the others have some talent the UFC is 80 % of MMA. If boxing reaches that point wioth the saudis it s good for boxing. So far so good under his emminence.
Yeah, it is hard to imagine this will not have the owner's input on the rankings. I guess one good thing that will likely come of it, is the re-establishing of The Ring Title as the one above all others. And hopefully, this will force the orgs beneath it to operate actually sporting ladders to feed the Ring Champion with each org's official contender... wishful thinking I know.
Does Ring influence much these days? Don't think it would be harmful under Turki ownership. Oscar owning Ring basically tranquilized it as the institution. Hope to see it be innovated and brought back to rekevance again. Riyadh can pump resources in there, create mainstream positions for press, journos, multimedia channels. Integrate the Belt into main picture in more meaningful way.
I honestly don't care if boxers get paid as little as UFC fighters, it's not my money, I just want to see the best fight the best.
I like to see fighters who fight the best earn a good fortune. But boxing is full of entitled divas who make a fortune for doing the exact opposite. Ultimately most of us here apart from a couple of weirdos like @African Cobra don't live vicariously through fighters and obsess over how much money they get or the women they've slept with. We just want the best fights.
No different to Oscar buying it back then. There will be bias but The Ring has had unbearable bias for decades now.
Hardly. Barely anybody buys the magazine anymore. For journalism to take a major hit it would need to actually be something people are exposing themselves to.
Actually this is even better then I thought. Every Riyadh Season boxer vacates their titles, and just fights for the ring title. Boxing would finally be saved.
A monopoly owned by a single man would hoist some fighters while depreciating others depending in many factors not only skills and cojones
