HI THINKING OF SUBSCRIBING TO RING MAGAZINE, CAN ANYONE GIVE THEIR VIEWS ON THE MAGAZINE AND IS IT WORTH SUBSCRIBING TO? REGARDS:thumbsup
Its worth it, good reads, fight analysis, flashback articles, rankings, the whole nine. Its worth the subscription.
Judging from their p4p lists, they are not even worth using to make paper planes from. Save your money, and make your own assumptions rather than believing what is fed to you by so-called experts. Read only if you address it with a good amount of scepticism as one always should. The internet is full of biased and non-biased information for free.
80% of the information I get comes from Ring, and some other boxing mag. Only problem is its soo late that 75% of what is printed you knew a month prior. But the article are first rate, and the insight is great. Its the way that writen press use to be, accurate, reseached and real. Plus the history parts are great, the old rankings, and the actaul old article from the past. Now this is coming from a guy that has every issue of Ring since the early 1970's. I never saw myself as a collector, I just took my dads boxing mags from the basement after he died and keep adding to them 20 years of that and you need a room in your house just for that. So for me its worth it, but its abit of a different meaning for me as well.
You have to watch what you read on these forums too! And % wise, you get better info from the ring vs the 800 threads of bull**** on some of the forums. I agree that their p4p lists are pretty much **** in general; but who doesn't make their own anyways?! There are AT MINIMUM a handful of things even the biggest boxing guru can learn every month from The Ring
HELL NO!!!! Especially since it went up... nothing new in the magazine... to few fights in between issues...the info your getting is old news most of the time. Even the little almanac is old news takin straight out of the ring mag
If you're a die hard boxing fan like me then it's worth it. While I don't subscribe anymore I still pick up a copy every 2 or 3 months at Wal-Mart just so when I have my fight parties I can leave them out for people to read them. With sites like this and others you can really get all you need without having to buy The Ring but I just like having them as a reference source and for the articles as well.
I never blindly believe what I read on these forums. I gather information here from posters, that I haven't obtained myself, then I give my own analysis on the matter, if I can. I never believe what is fed to me. Danes are brought up with much scepticism of authorities of any kind, and I am one of the worst of my kind. With that said, I listen to what most sane people have to say, but I never make it my own assumptions - if I then agree with it, then I adopt it as well. I never trust other media, because unlike communities such as this, they have a monetary agenda, and therefore they can't be trusted as good information source, at least not in analysis. Only irrefutible fact, but I can get that elsewhere for free as well.
