I'm struggling with my top 10 p4p atm. I'm happy with my top 6, Pacman, Calzaghe, JMM, Vasquez, Cotto, Mijares. After that I'm struggling a bit, Pavlik would be in there somewhere but I'm not sure what number, the others I would probably have Guzman, Marquez and Hatton in some sort of order at 8,9 and 10 but I'm not sure.

was pac first before this? if not why would a win over david diaz propel him there?

I'm pretty sure he was #1 before, if not then he could of been moved up because he became a 5 weight world champion and the nature of the victory, completely dominated Diaz before a brutal KO.

Well he was second behind Floyd so yeah effectively Diaz has made no difference

If you look at the body of work between Pacquiao and Calzaghe, I think Pacquiao should be the #1 P4P. Calzaghe did not move up so many weight divisions. Manny won as a flyweight, super bantamweight, super featherweight, and as a lightweight. How about Calzaghe: I just know him as a super middleweight. He was dominant in one weight division but Pacman's resume is just more impressive IMO.

I agree. Think #1 and #2 are pretty close but have Pac ahead. After those two I think there are only really 3/4 other boxers who belong in the top ten, after that it's arguable.

Bare in mind it's more difficult for Calzaghe to move up divisions, I mean the lower divisions tend to be just 3/4lbs difference, whereas Calzaghe had to jump 7 to light-heavy and then would have to jump at least 15 to cruiser, where he would be far too small let alone at heavy lol.

In percentage terms though, the jump isn't that much different from 108-112 and 168-175.

    108-112 = 3.7%
    168-175 = 4.1%

Fair enough, but the jump from light-heavy to cruiser would be an enormous one for Calzaghe, and there's no way he could compete there.

    I meant the other Marquez!

Pavlik would be no higher than #9 on my list - two wins against Jermain Taylor score points on my card, but taking as many as three to dispose of Gary Lockett loses a few - bearing in mind there would be three or four 160lb'ers in England that could destroy him in less than six!

Agreed - a 14% jump, which is way too much.

Cruiser should go back to 190lbs - lightheavies would be tempted to go up, and the larger ones would have to fight at heavy. Therefore the skill level at heavy would increase, for the good of the sport.

from that i computed pac and floyds increase in weight percentage:

    pacquiao: 106-135 = 27.36% increase
    mayweather: 130-154 = 18.46% increase
