    theres the present rankings

Things that stuck out to me is how strong the Classic divsions were in 1970 they were packed, also there was alot of veterans around which is the case today as well but there was more in 1970 IMO.

However the ******* division are much stronger in the present days

Tiger and Monzon not just a million miles away from being able to have an actual fight.

Wow, Monzon at NUMBER 10!!! Howard Cosell was so right in repeatedly referring to Monzon as the "unknown, unheralded Carlos Monzon" on that Wide World of Sports broadcast that showed the tape of Monzon knocking out Benvenuti. My how that would change.

Wow, Rodrigo Valdez at #2 to challenge Jose Napoles...an intriguing matchup I havent even considered. Looking at the whole roster of divisions, champs and contenders, I sure have to say that boxing was in great shape then.

Seeing that makes me wonder why Liston never got a shot again. Not in 1970 (As he wasn't alive) but earlier. If he was ranked then, he must have been ranked sometime earlier. I guess the 2 Ali fights were really big losses and drops for him.
